Re: an idea and a question
Is it possible you added this word to your dictionary for Nisus... I believe Nisus uses the same dictionary that Mac OS X does (including Pages, TextEdit, etc.). The customized spelling dictionary for these programs is found in your Home folder. The address is ~/Library/Spelling/en (if you're using...

Sure there is. To do this, you have to use copy and pasting. To copy an existing customized style, go to View-> Style Sheet. Select the custom style you want to move to another document and copy it (Cmd-C, or select Edit - Copy). Switch to the other document, and set the view to Style Sheet if you h...

d, It can definitely import it (I use it everyday when my students send me a .docx file). However, Pages only exports the old .doc format. This was started with Pages 3.0, as Pages 2.0 did not have the capability to deal with .docx at all. Pages translates Word documents (both .doc and .docx) very w...

Go for the NWPro upgrade. It will serve you better in the long run, especially if you need customized macros to do work for you. Also, if you ever need to work on long documents, its bookmarking, TOC, and indexing are indispensable. And there's nothing in Express that is not in Pro, however there is...

I don't think I'm in the slightest bit being defensive. It's more that I don't agree with the reply you made to my post and I'm saying so. I don't know how you construe that as being defensive. For some reason I don't think you're seeing the constructive side of my comments - nothing is perfect, ev...

Stop being so defensive. No one is attacking you; we're trying to offer solution to help you. Every program has its strengths and weaknesses. And you can't really expect to create a file in one program and have it be completely readable in another, especially with a closed format like Word. Instead ...

It's all very well making excuses for NWX's poor level of compatibility with DOC files, but surely the idea behind any product is that it should fulfil the customers' requirements of it? I don't think anyone is making excuses. If you want true compatibility with your DOC files, how about buying Mic...

that font size is the real travesty of this rant. I feel like I need to remind you that Nisus has not charged for an upgrade to Express in four years (which included a MAJOR upgrade in 1.5 to 2.0, and then another in 2.0 to 2.5). Also, they announced Express 3.0 almost two months ago, on the blog. E...

See pg. 297 of the manual (or 321 of the pdf, since the manual has early roman numerals at the beginning). It's in the Table of Contents. The manual, by the way, is a good read, if only to skim it completely and get an understanding of where things are in the program. And, of course, in most Mac pro...
