Re: Numbered list indent - how to adjust?

Hi Dan,

Nisus Writer Pro automatically inserts a tab after an automatic number in a list. You can change the length of the space by setting a tab stop in Style Sheet view, or by changing the space setting in the Text field of the Lists panel (again, in Style Sheet view).

Hi,

it's still in the preferences, under Appearance -> Automatic Text -> List Items.

Re: Reducing font list

The Font Family field is actually a field that can be typed in. Another solution would therefore be to just start typing the font's name, if you know which font you're after. Nisus Writer Pro will start autocompleting the font's name to make things easier for you.

Re: NWP Document Templates save as Microsoft Word Templates

Technically speaking, the templates are not Word templates; they simply use the same extension (.dot) as Word templates. Double-clicking on a .dot file instructs Mac OS X to open it with the default application for this file type, and if Word is installed on your Mac, then this file type is assigned...

Re: Numbered Outline/Report Template

In addition to phspaelti's comments: it is true that line numbering does not change when promoting/demoting a heading, and this looks like a bug to me, too. I just wanted to add that you can also select a heading in the Navigator and hit tab to demote it, and Shift+tab to promote it. Just a little t...

Re: Problems altering the comment font size (bug?)

Hi Dan, the style change needs to be made in the Nisus New File, the default template file on which every new document in Nisus Writer Pro is based (unless you use a different template). To do that, click on Nisus Writer Pro>Preferences, click on the New File icon and switch to the Advanced tab. The...

Re: Rosetta?

Hi Claude, the code for the Word import filter (based on OpenOffice.org) is still PowerPC, and PowerPC code can only be run on Intel Macs via Rosetta. If you want to open Word documents in Nisus Writer Pro, you need to install Rosetta, or Nisus Writer Pro won't be able to read the file. This issue h...

Re: reordering names in a list

Hi Nick, this is easily done in Nisus Writer Pro, using PowerFind Pro. Open the Find window (Cmd+f), then make sure "PowerFind Pro (regex)" is show in the drop down list. In the "Find what" field, enter (.+), (.+) . In the "Replace with" field, enter \2 \1 . Click Repla...

Re: Questions from a novice

Hi Ron, and welcome to Nisus! 1. Is the latest NWP compatible with EndNote (a famous and important bibliographic software)? Not directly. If EndNote supports RTF scanning, then you can simply have it scan the RTF file created by Nisus Writer Pro. 2. Why do I have so much difficulty locating review a...

Re: Keeping tables together

I would like to make the following feature requests: Nisus Writer Pro ought to include support for header rows that can be repeated at the top of every new page (if the table spans across multiple pages). This is not really related to this topic, but Pages has a lovely feature that automatically col...

Re: help on new sizing of new page

Hi, and welcome to Nisus! To get what you want, you simply need to modify your default template. To do so, go to Nisus Writer Pro>Preferences, New File, Advanced, and click on Edit Nisus New File. Your default template will then open up; change the size of the window by dragging it manually or by cl...

Re: NW PRO won't open WORD 04 DOCs

I want to echo the sentiment. I use Intel Macs only, and I would love to eliminate redundant PowerPC files, if only to save hard disk space. Many software developers offer two separate versions of their applications, and if you Nisus guys label the download files appropriately, there should be no co...

Re: NW PRO won't open WORD 04 DOCs

Also, how do you go about saving the Word document? The Save As feature only generates a regular RTF file with a .doc file extension. If you want to create a real Word binary file, you need to use the Export feature.

Pages has the Formatting Bar, though, which is similar to an Inspector section in terms of functionality.

Re: viewing footnotes/endnotes

Microsoft Word, for instance, can display footnotes in Draft View. The screen is split in two, with the upper half showing the regular text, and the lower half the footnotes.
