This is highlighted (no pun intended) in the manual and has been answered on this list many times. You turn this off in the Preferences - Appearances - Customizable Colors - Automatic Text. Scott P. S. I will echo dshan's earlier suggestion that one reads the manual and does a search on forum before...

K-9,

If it will get you to stop sending badly written tirades to this forum, I will refund your money.

K-9, Accepting that (or hitting OK) cannot "screw up your files and templates." It can only overwrite one template: your Nisus New File.dot, which mrennie defined very clearly in her post. If your Nisus New File is overwritten and you have made changes, simply edit the Nisus New File (in t...

Hello Greenjuice Have you found out how to personalise the default new file? Set up the page as you want it, then save, setting the format as "Document template" which gtives a file extension of ".dot" with the name "Nisus New File.dot" in the folder user/Library/Appli...

Hello Jonas and welcome to the forum. I think you'll find Nisus Writer's interface much easier to use than Mellel's (and much more pleasurable). Mellel is a powerful word processor, but it has one hell of a learning curve. NWP is just as powerful, but as intuitive as the Mac itself and tends to work...

Endnote X1 has support for Applescript. Has anyone (preferably someone who knows more about Applescript than I) played around with it? Could we create scripts which would automate a lot of the workflow with Endnote/NWP? I know there's talk on using Endnote's Applescript capabilities to make it compl...

K-9, I by no means wanted to imply that you were fibbing :). Just wanted to give you some insight into how things usually work around here. Remember, Nisus is a small independent Mac developer. They do not have the resources that companies like Apple and Microsoft have. I don't know how many employe...

I'd like to add some context to K-9's experiences here (or at least another side). I've always found the customer service reps extremely responsive to any question I've ever asked, whether through email or through the official Nisus members of this forum. As a matter of fact, it is this customer ser...

The glossary is so powerful (as this example shows). Too bad it gets almost no mention in the manual.

I bet...what's really weird is that it only shows up in Courier...so that rules out any kind of QuickFix problem.

Hopefully Martin can help you out.

I can't reproduce this. When I type "--" followed by a space bar in Courier, they remain as typed.

Pages '08 doesn't use the same text engine that Nisus does. Pages uses WebKit.

I'm assuming that it saved it in the Resources folder insider the Nisus Writer Pro application. Right click the NWP icon in your Applications folder. You should see "Show Package Contents." A new window will open. You will see a Contents folder. Inside that folder will be the Resources fol...
