Martin,
Thank you for the information, particularly the link to setting the function keys as the default.

NWP and new MBPro with touch bar
While Apple has decreed that function keys are a thing of the past, some people use the function keys with Nisus extensively. I'm one of them. I also use an external keyboard, and teh laptop keyboard is barely within reach. As I understand it, you have to press the FN key on the laptop to access the...

Hi, Þorvarður.
In the macro language reference go to
Objects : Registry Object: Registry Type Commands
or faster, search for "user registry" and you'll go straight there.

Another option would be make define the desired characters as glossary entries.

Re: underline to italic?
You can also use the find expressions already described and just Find All. Then dismiss the F/R dialog, and manually apply the changes you want while all of the found selections are still selected (highlighted). So if you want to remove the underline and apply italic, simply cmd-U and then cmd-I -- ...

Re: Glossary issues, again
Thank you for your interest and comments, which sent me looking more. I discovered that the problem was the hyphen in 長さ−長. Somewhere in the trip from the original document in Nisus to Excel and back to Nisus glossary, that character was converted from U+30FC to U+2212 in the glossary. So it would n...

re: OmegaT
Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I have tried it. But it suffers from the same readability problems (for me, anyway) as the others on Windows.

Glossary issues, again
Hello again. I use Nisus to translate Japanese to English, particularly patents. Patents have lots of boilerplate and odd, sometimes nonce, terms. Nisus' glossaries are terrific for handling such. Be that as it may, the following sample entries work as defined. the ave -> the average fiber length th...

Perhaps I should note that the actual message received is
Do you want to save the changes made to the document “J0123456g”?
where the document title changes according to the glossary file. This has the Nisus logo and seems to be a Nisus-generated dlg box.

Hi, Philip.
Not sure which poster you are asking, but as noted my problem with the macro Save and glossaries does not involve El Capitan.

Re: Pro 2.1.2 makes me save documents TWICE...
I'm glad you mentioned this. It spurred me to write. After upgrading to 2.1.2, and still after reverting to 2.1 because of 2.12's problem with double-expansion of glossary entries, I have the same problem with glossary files opened and saved by a macro. A macro I have used for years creates glossary...

Re: glossary expansion improvement -- broken in 2.12
Thank you again for your reply. I don't think the problem is with the glossary file. I created a new blank document and expanded some glossary entries. They would not expand a second time until I saved, closed, and reopened the document (trash.rtf in the 2 files I sent via Feedback). I booted up 2.1...

Re: glossary expansion improvement -- broken in 2.12
Thanks for the reply. The QuickFix being the typo corrections? Then no. Entries are only in the glossary files. It is definitely happening on this end. Not all the time or everytime, but under conditions I haven't nailed down yet. It does not happen with "new" text. For example, if the glo...

glossary expansion improvement -- broken in 2.12
Running osx 10.9.5 and the new Nisus 2.12. In 2.11, glossary abbreviations only very rarely expanded a second time. In 2.12, they do so frequently. Assume the glossary entry 21 printer 21 Type 21(period) and you get "printer 21." as expected. In 2.11, deleting the period and typing a space...

glossary expansion improvement
I just discovered that NWP has gotten a lot smarter with 2.1. Specifically, if an abbreviation has already been expanded, even in text copied from another document, NWP no longer expands the entry again. For example, if the abbrev is "42" and expands to "widget wombat 42", typing...
