Re: Why is this code incorrect?
in NW 2.1 the location of the Nisus New File is now in the ~/Nisus Documents/Templates/' folder… It's good that you mention this. Is the "Nisus Documents" folder also not more inside the Documents folder? Mine is here: /Users/Home/Documents/Nisus Documents Which files should now be in the...

Re: Why is this code incorrect?
This has never been part of the macro language. In fact it doesn't even make sense. Here is the whole macro. It's based on a macro written by Kino, but I guess I must have screwed it up. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. To achieve the same goal, a much shorter and simpler macro would...

Why is this code incorrect?
I have a macro that has always worked flawlessly. Today I keep getting an error message regarding "unexpected text in macro source code": 1.png It's the orange colored part that is the culprit. 2.png Is this due to some new changes in the macro language? Is this not anymore part of the mac...

Re: Facelift?
I prefer the Tool Drawer to floating palettes where you have to struggle with the palettes getting in the way of your work. If you position the palettes vertical left and right to your document and use the *same* keyboard shortcut to show and hide them, then they will most certainly not get in the ...

Re: Initials
I think, there does not exist a printed edition of Joseph Conrad with additional space before paragraphs. In print a new paragraph is marked by indentation, not by additional space. Hi Ulrich, I checked my printed edition, and I think you may be quite right. Thanks for pointing this out. I guess I ...

Re: Initials
But now line 5 should also have the same space, then it is perfect. This was done deliberately, because my "Lorem Ipsum" text shows the first two paragraphs of the novella Heart of Darkness by Józef Teodor Nałęcz Konrad Korzeniowski, better known as Joseph Conrad. The 5th line is the seco...

You can use the Shape Metrics palette to tweak the size and determine where the shapes appear on the page.

Re: How to find m-dash without specific Character Style?
Hi WF, If your final intention is to assign all Em Dashes the same style attribute (Font X), then just select all Em Dashes in the document and assign them the same style attribute, and you're done. >I need to select a specific character throughout my document, EXCEPT when that character has Charact...

Re: Footnote Issues with Section Breaks
Hello Stef, How about inserting a Page Break just before the Section Break? That would prevent the footnote text from spilling over to the first page of the new section, but you would get an empty page. I don't know whether that is acceptable to you. I remember having seen such pages in books with f...

Re: Search help for precise phrase
To find a phrase in Preview, use quotations marks.
In Skim make sure that neither "Whole Words Only" nor "Ignore Case" is enabled. Quotations marks are not required in Skim.
By the way, the string "open type" doesn't seem to appear in NWP's Help.

Re: Using Search/Power Search
You don’t want to see all your decimal points (including any that may designate Figure or Table identifiers) having an unwanted space inserted after them. The same would apply to commas if you were using them in your currency Preferences. Any mathematical expressions would be especially vulnerable....

Re: Using Search/Power Search
Hi Markos, If your thesis is in English, then Adrian's search expression will also find apostrophes and hyphens, which I think you might not want, because this would add an extra space to words where there should be no space. Example: "I don't know" would become "I don' t know" (...
