Re: Crashing on start

Glad to have helped. And couldn't agree more… a wonderful piece of software!

Re: Crashing on start

Have you tried moving the Settings file out of the Library onto the desktop first, to let NWP create a new one?

That said, I'd install the latest version, which is 3.3. I've been running it without problems on an M2 Pro Mac Mini, with MacOS Ventura 13.3.x and now 13.4.

Re: Fabulous Clipboard Tools

Thanks for getting back to me. Actually, I created a "Saved Clipboards" folder in that location: ~/iCloud/Nisus Documents/Saved Clipboards/. The "Stored Clipboards" was a brain disconnect while writing the message. I've just tried again and it worked. Why? I presume because I had...

Re: Fabulous Clipboard Tools

Hi, thanks for sharing these. I've downloaded the macros, as they will make using multiple clipboards much easier. But I have a problem: using Ventura 1.3.1 and NWP 3.3, I have no "Nisus Writer Settings" folder in which to create the "Saved Clipboards" folder, so while the Copy a...

Re: Auto-fix option for double-caps

Thanks Martin, Of course your least-amount-of-text solution works beautifully. I haven't tested your first replace string—I've been busy, particularly having just taken delivery of a M2 Pro Mac Mini, which I've been setting up to replace the iMac—but I'm sure it will work. My task will be to work ou...

Re: Auto-fix option for double-caps

Reviving this thread, has there been any progress on this? I have been able to construct RegEx find strings which work… for NWP: \<(\p{Upper})(\p{Upper})(\p{Lower}+) or for other PCRE-using apps \b([A-Z])([A-Z])([a-z]+) but I can't find a way to replace the second found with its lowercase equivalent...

Re: Convert to Markdown

Further to that recent post of mine, I have continued playing with Lou’s macro. I have removed the style definitions which were preventing it from working with my document, so now it is handling headings, bold, italic and bullet points. What it doesn’t work with is block quotes, and here I don’t und...

Re: Convert to Markdown

Mark, Thanks for letting me know. I forgot a # in front of the comment line. :P It works now. 8) Lou Hi Lou, Glad to have helped. I’ve again tried the two macros on the same document. As I said, for @tomoyuki-kosaka’s macro, I need to substitute double carriage returns for the single carriage retur...

Re: Convert to Markdown

Inspired by the To Markdown macro by @tomoyuki-kosaka. This version is a little lighter weight. It doesn't support converting tables because tables in markdown are ridiculous. I wrote this so I can take what I write in Nisus and post it to my markdown only blog. It coverts the document then copies ...

Re: multi-file search

I'm going to break a habit of (roughly a third) of a lifetime! I don't like to discuss alternative software on a forum like this, but ThosGreen's problem pushes me to do it. This is precisely the situation that Scrivener is designed around. All those sidecar files, notes to self, and written-uo sect...

Re: Help with Macro sentence spacing

The interesting question is: How did Julie end up with the situation she found herself in? I suspect that she typed a sentence, concluded it with a period, followed that with a couple of spaces, and only then used the Insert Footnote command. I think we'd need to see the macro Julie found. The way ...

Re: Help with Macro sentence spacing

In the spirit of stable door shutting… I didn't know about that macro, but my solution would simply have been to use Find & Replace. You set it to find all double spaces and replace them with single spaces. Not only would it replace those you typed deliberately after full stops, but it would als...

Re: Word Wrap and Plain-Text Paste

Absolutely agree, Martin. But why Word and many other editors like JCE (in Joomla) chuck them in all over the place mystifies me.

:D

Re: Word Wrap and Plain-Text Paste

Thanks Adrian for pointing that out… I failed to pay attention to what \u160 is! I get a lot of documents sent to me in DOCX format which are also peppered with those No-Break Spaces. I just replace them as I see them, though a quick macro might be useful. I also replace them ( ) on the web...

Does the "Zap Gremlins" macro not remove them?
