Re: Copy all NWP settings to another computer
Martin, Didn't the method for cloning QuickFix data all change with v. 3? Now is this data (or, "are this data"!) in the settings which can be synchronized? I thought I had a bunch of QuickFix data on my MBP, but then I set up a new computer and used the same sync settings. Now both are em...

Re: Table heading rows to next page(s)?
What I found I could do is this: Once the layout was as needed and I didn't foresee any text moving, I copied the row that had the headings in it. (It was not designated a heading row, if that's possible.) Then I just placed the cursor in the leftmost cell of the first row of the table on page 2 and...

Table heading rows to next page(s)?
Hi, all, and Happy New Year, I'm been slow to the 3.x bandwagon, and just bought it and installed it. I need to make a multi-page table, and I'd like the heading row to repeat on each next page. The table I have now starts below half way down page one and goes all the way to page 7 of the document. ...

Philip,
I just wanted to say a big thank you for all you do with macros in the forums and even off-forum. I use some that you have made many times a week. I really appreciate your generosity.

Re: Will Stedman's Medical Dictionary work with NWP 2.1.8?
Thanks once again, Þorvarður. We were able to get it all set up, and it seems to be working. The only problem was that in NWP Preferences, somehow, the settings were that for U.S. English, the dictionary was set to a mere "English." Any new words were going into a file called "Local D...

Will Stedman's Medical Dictionary work with NWP 2.1.8?
Hi, all, Someone else is wondering if this dictionary is compatible with Nisus Writer Pro, and I get to post the question. http://store.dictran.com/stedmansplusmedicalpharmaceuticalspellcheckerstandardedition.aspx or https://www.amazon.com/Stedmans-Medical-Pharmaceutical-Spellchecker-Standard/produc...

Re: "Time Machine can't find your backup disk."
Martin, this is strange. When I went into Preferences > Time Machine, I was proven wrong. (I guess that's not so strange, but I don't like it!) The disk NWP's message says it can't access is an obsolete partition of a 1TB disk that is being populated with data from a Carbon Copy Cloner backup. So … ...

"Time Machine can't find your backup disk."
Files > Revert To > Browse All Versions When I did that I get the message that "Time Machine can't find your backup disk." What might cause that? I don't think I've ever used Time Machine, but I know I've used the Revert capability in NWP before and found older versions to revert to. I'm o...

Re: 2.1.7 Can't get speech boxes to work
Philip,
Thanks for jogging my memory! I think I was just confused about which was what. I wanted the "Callout, Rounded Speech Box", but was selecting something else (and maybe stroke was set to zero, which further confused me). I think I get it now

2.1.7 Can't get speech boxes to work
I used to be able to get callouts to work, but now (I suppose since going to 2.1.7), they just look similar to regular text boxes. I'm using the icon for Text Box and then the item "Callout - Speech Box". Maybe someone could see if they can get it to work and let me know. If it works for y...

Re: Name Index and Scripture Index
Considering all these problems, in the end it might be best to write a macro to do the whole scripture index and not bother with the Nisus index feature. Rod, Philip has very unselfishly helped me a lot with similar macros. Kudos to him! I agree with Philip that probably the best thing is to do a s...

Re: Retain italics in Table of Contents?
There's room for improvement here, and I'll file a feature request, thank you. The problem will be in deciding which formatting to preserve and which to discard. The formatting you've all mentioned like italics, superscript and capitalization makes good sense, but it makes much less sense to preser...

Re: Yosemite forever
If it's any comfort to you, I'm still using Yosemite. I think the Mac OS is much too insensitive to backward compatibility.
