Also, keep in mind that Mac OS itself provides a very useful trick to manipulate object that are NOT in the frontmost window. It is called click-though. You hold down the Command key and click, for example, the up and down arrows of a window. You can also Command-click and drag to move the scroller...

Rich, I was a long-time QUED/M user but was able to give it up after I found BBEdit (barebones.com). There is a free version called TextWrangler, but it didn't have code-folding the last I looked. Steve Have a look at the excellent Smultron. Since I'm not a programmer, I do not no if this applicati...

Thanks. Should I interpret this that as: No matter what a document contains Nisus natively saves the document as a RTF file (unless I export it to another format)? The reason I ask is that I found applications that saves to a single file unless I paste pictures etc into document which causes the ap...

One of the few things I used to use NWE for, was to make tables. But since my primary writing tool - Mellel - nowaday are as able as NWE to make these tables, I hardly use NWE anymore. But my daughter use NWE as her primary writing tool, writing papers and homeworks. NWE is a good writing tool, but ...

Nope, don't really need them. I think a word processor should really be just that. A word processor. The ability to make a horizontal rule could be handy, but I'm certainly against full fledge drawing, a la Word. For that, there are better programs to use out there, like Omnigraffle. Agree on this ...

We don't have to learn Mellel's styles (which aren't complicated but why should word processing be anything other than simple). because sometimes things which are real powerful aren't possible to be only simple? btw mellel's styles are not that complicated, they're not simple that's true, but they ...

If I type the same text in Word, NWE and Mellel, the text looks awful in Word, good in NWE and beyond perfection in Mellel. I don't know why, but it seems to me that whatever I type/write, I'm typing/writing better in Mellel than in any other word processor. :? I have used many different word proces...
