Re: force text block to bottom of page

G’day, Philip et al Very neat, Philip. When I have time, I’ll study your macro in more detail, but a cursory examination shows it contains some very useful commands I haven’t had occasion to use before. I didn’t mean to imply the necessity to use much of Kino’s macro — just that bits of it might be ...

Re: force text block to bottom of page

G’day, Myron et al The macro would be easy to use in practice: it’s the design and construction that require the hard work! A couple of quick observations: Kino’s “Select By Style” macro (in the Find folder of the Macros folder) could be raided for relevant code if necessary, and the page in the man...

Re: force text block to bottom of page

G’day, Myron et al This is an interesting problem which I suspect might be better dealt with by desktop publishing software. The sort of Nisus Writer solution that best suits you depends a lot on your particular requirements and how often the situation is likely to arise in your work. I personally f...

Re: “Split Document” macro to respect New File settings

G’day, Philip et al Thank you very much for that. I now see how to save the new document appropriately. It seems I hadn’t appreciated the “.setActive” command sufficiently. The "light show" doesn’t bother me unduly. After all, the content of my documents is just so interesting, and I can s...

Re: “Split Document” macro to respect New File settings

G'day, Philip et al Thanks for looking at this for me. The macro on the Web site you cited is dated 2009-06-27. The version I have is dated 2009-07-02. The differences are fairly trivial, but I attach the version I have. I was using code very similar to the fragment you gave — slightly different syn...

“Split Document” macro to respect New File settings

G’day, all I want to modify Kino’s “Split Document” macro so that the destination files respect my Nisus New File settings. For example, as it stands at the moment, the macro produces documents whose Page Setup settings (such as paper size) differ from those in my Nisus New File. I have tried insert...

Re: Make a row of a table an exact height

G’day, billmounce et al Apart from using the “.setUserHeightAtRow” Table object command in the macro language, there is no facility to enter a table row height directly. You can, however, select a table, position the cursor over a row’s lower border and drag it up or down. As you do so, the correspo...

View > Show Invisibles

This should reveal a Page Break or a Section Break that you can delete.

Re: Export to epub problem

G’day, Kadah et al I am sure someone would help you if they could. A quick search for “EPUB” on the Forum shows that many questions on the subject have never received answers, so I suspect few people here use this feature. I myself have had no experience with EPUB files or iBooks, but I did a quick ...

Re: Nidus Writer Pro file in Application Support

G’day, msebban et al There are 3 Libraries, two of which have Application Support folders. Only one of these has a Nisus Writer Pro folder, and the only thing in mine is a LibreImporter folder. I suspect the Nisus plist files you seek are lurking in the Preferences folder of your user Library, where...

Re: Underline

G’day, Iain et al I’m not quite sure what you want here, Iain. To my eye, the line inserted by the Paragraph Borders palette is as close as one would like to the text above, if the purpose is to set off a (sub-) heading. The only thing closer would be an actual underline character. Paragraph Borders...

Re: Is there a way to strip "Track Changes" from the documen

G’day, Vanceone et al The topic title refers to “Track Changes”, but I don’t think Nisus tracks changes (apart from the number of Undo locations you set in Preferences) if you have the “Track Changes” feature turned off. If you turn the feature on and Show Changes Pane, and see that changes appear t...

Re: Special Characters: Mixed Fonts

G’day, Þorvarður et al

After a 10-hour download, I’ve updated to Yosemite 10.10.5 on my mid-2014 MacBook Pro Retina. The Character Viewer works as it should, Font Variation linkage in Favorites having survived the ordeal.

Cheers,
Adrian

Re: Special Characters: Mixed Fonts

G’day, Þorvarður et al Yes, I am referring to the Font Variation. The characters in my Character Viewer Favorites retain their distinguishing features. When they are inserted into a NWP document, the correct fonts are recognized in the NWP Character Palette. I have now done my tests on a MacBook Pro...

Re: Special Characters: Mixed Fonts

G’day, Þorvarður et al On my computer, the font association in Character Viewer Favorites survives each of the following operations: closing of the Character Viewer window, shutting down and relaunching Nisus Writer, and restarting the computer. I tested this with right arrows and with N-ary circled...
