Re: Footnote spacing in 2nd line wonky when centered.
Thank you both. I believe that as long as I could still choose to center the FN paragraph (and I expect I could?), with that enforced spacing in V3 it would be just what I want. However, if I recall correctly, my (fatal) problem with version 3 when I tried it was that when opening long documents (i....

Footnote spacing in 2nd line wonky when centered.
Hi, I’m having trouble spacing footnotes on second and third lines. Background: My book has two design decisions that can’t be changed now, because of the rest of the book: 1. There are multiple footnotes per line. 2. The footnotes paragraph is centered on the page. To look balanced, I want them to ...

Re: Weird Text Analysis Bug: possessive+.
Thanks Adrian
FWIW, I tried it again changing the smart quote to plain quote in 'else's', for curiosity. But same thing happens.

Weird Text Analysis Bug: possessive+.
Hi, I've found a small bug in the Text Analysis [File Menu]. Description: Ending a sentence with a possessive like "else's" causes Nisus to ignore the period and report wrong number of sentences and wrong Grade Levels. Example: 1) "He said it wasn’t his, it was somebody else’s. But I ...

Re: Single-page defeat of Footnote "one note per line"?
If we now save, close and re-open the document, we can see that the style "Footnote 1" is gone … Nisus allows only one Footnote style (and one Endnote style) per document. Thank you both. This is as I'd feared. I suggest that Nisus could add this as a feature: being able to control footno...

Single-page defeat of Footnote "one note per line"?
Hi, I have a long book with 60 or more pages that have footnotes. About half those pages have multiple footnotes on a page. I have "One Note per line" checked, and this is the best option in almost all cases. But: what is the best way to defeat this on a single page with 6 footnoted citati...

Re: Import CSV file to table in Nisus?
G'day, wF et al If you replace all the commas in your comma-separated text file with tabs, then select everything and Convert Text to Table, you will get a proper Table. This may not be the complete solution in every circumstance. For example, I started with a Numbers spreadsheet which had commas i...

Import CSV file to table in Nisus?
Hi, I'm accumulating CSV files (as backups for meta-data for pieces of writing submitted to publishers). I'd like a way to get these into Nisus, converted into a Nisus Table. So far I can only get them to load in the bare text CSV form, and 'convert to Table' doesn't turn them into a proper table wi...

Re: Table Format for Sort by date?
G'day, wF et al It sorts Tables for me, without any error messages. Are you using NWP 3.0.3? That command is definitely there in the Edit hierarchical menu. Cheers, Adrian Aha. I'm using 2.1.10 (because I didn't like how v. 3.0 loaded large documents). So we can put it down to that, I'll suppose. B...

Re: Table Format for Sort by date?
You don't need to test them all if you don't want to....--snip--... You may just want to try the Sort by Date US macro. Hi Adrian, I'm a bit OCD, so I have to finish the parts that apply to me. :) So I tested four of your final posted bunch; here are the results: Method (& Results ): Since my d...

Re: Table Format for Sort by date?
@Philip, Thanks for the ascend/descend and I'll test it. I understand your reluctance to address the blanks and the year-only, and I can deal with what's happening. I'm being sloppy leaving the blanks in there, and it doesn't really matter what day the software chooses if I only put the year anyway....

Re: Table Format for Sort by date?
Here is my test report. It's complicated but was certainly worthwhile doing. Thank you Philip and Adrian for those macros. Here goes: I used the revised versions of three of the macros that you revised, and called them "Dr2" in my naming. I ended up with 6 distinct macros to test, which I ...

Re: Table Format for Sort by date?
Thank you both! I'm amazed and a little overwhelmed at the moment, by the amount of testing I'll need to do to see what works best (or, dare I say it, what works, since I've already found several small anomalies in testing them). But I'm going to forge ahead, and try to keep your macros straight by ...

Re: Table Format for Sort by date?
Adrian's macro is nice, but will not work properly, if the date has the form "January 2 nd , 2019". Here's a different macro which may succeed in more cases, but has other drawbacks. Thank you both; I may work out a system that uses one or more of them. @phspaelti, yours even does a corre...
