Ah, wait for the black arrow. That works.

Re: Drag and drop gone
And now it works again. I didn't even relaunch NWP. I guess High Sierra was just thinking about it...

Re: Drag and drop gone
(It's only in NWP, still works fine in TextEdit. Curious.)

Drag and drop gone
Hi all, I've just upgraded to High Sierra and amongst all the things that have gone wrong, in NWP I can no longer highlight a piece of text and then drag and drop it somewhere else. I can't find a preference to adjust this, and I suspect it's at the system level since it's only since I upgraded. Any...

Re: auto page numbers in body of text
Thanks for that. It certainly sounds like a more professional way of doing it (although for me, way slower. )

Re: auto page numbers in body of text
Ok, I've sort of answered my own question: yes and no (if anyone's interested). Since my form was a table, and perfectly sized for the page, I inserted an auto page no. in the appropriate place, copied the whole table and pasted 200 copies. So the page number has to be manually inserted, but holding...

auto page numbers in body of text
Yes: is it possible to have auto page numbers in the body of a text or just in the headers/footers? Inserting a page number only inserts to the current page and I want a page number on every page (without having to manually insert into every page). (Background: I'm clunkily trying to print out 200 c...

automatic new document
I've just upgraded to 2.1.4 and notice that NWP automatically opens a new document based on my template if there are no files open. This happens both if I tab though to NWP and if I double-click on a file to open it (if there are no files already open). Can I stop this? I generally don't want it, pa...

Re: change roman to arabic in ToC
Thanks. In the end I got the document's creator to rebuild, although it probably would have worked if I'd done it, too.

change roman to arabic in ToC
Hi all, someone has sent me a document to format and pdf, but although the page numbers are in Arabic numerals, the ToC has them in Roman. I can't find out how to change this, and there doesn't seem to be anything in the manual, the assumption being it should somehow be automatic...?

Re: Underline
And even curiouser - if I try and copy past, as soon as I select some text to copy the baseline offset reverts to 0 before I even copy, never mind try and paste it elsewhere. But as we know, my NWP does curious things.

Re: Underline
Hi Adrian, Sorry, my reply doesn't seem to have been posted. But I said thanks :) and that I'd probably be satisfied with paragraph borders. For the record I seem to have set (on my original document) the underline baseline at +5 pt, but quite how I have no idea, and as I say, even if I save this se...

Underline
A very long time ago I drew up a document which had subheadings (that I created without using a style) that had underlines that were 1. right acorss the page (I used spaces, not tabs, presumably because I couldn't work out how to do it using tabs) and 2. further from the text than is usual (ie more ...

Thanks Martin, this sounds good. All I want is the prompt... I'll give it a go.
