I am surprised no one gave the reason to this. In Zurich, where I spend half my time, no one would ask this, since it has been in use for all of a quarter of a century. In answer to the feminist movement of the time, the Philological Seminar of (I think) Berlin (West-Berlin at the time), came up wit...

I have nothing to add to what scottwhitlock wrote. That's just it.
All the suggestions you make are nice, dshan, BUT I am looking for a backup I mustn't THINK about, like the one we had with Nisus Classic. Lazy Dog, I? YEAH, lazy silly dog.

Re: ~/Documents/Nisus Documents/Backups

I would like to be able to designate an external drive folder as my Nisus Documents folder, where it can save there as need be, and then be able to take that folder with me and have it available to another copy of Nisus immediately upon mount. S. So would I, so would I, I have been asking for this ...

xiamenese I can't remember at what point in the development from 1 to 2.7 it was, but I'm pretty sure I remember paying an upgrade fee somewhere along the line I think the last time we paid for something is IN SUMMER 2003, three and a half years ago. That was for NWE 1.0 as far as my files tell me....

Midwinter And as an aside, Anne, I wish my French were better; I'd love to read one of your novels. I'd love to read what you write as well. Couldn't we swap texts? You send me one of yours, and I send you (snail mail) one of mine. Not to stray too far from the discussion here, you could explain to...

Foobar: So the idea that, in addition to this long a delay, we're going to need to add another infusion of dollars, is something that one might reasonably be a little unhappy about -- even if it's obviously not the end of the world, this is, for some of us, a reason to reassess whether we feel like...

I don't mean to pick on Anne, but let's get something straight, because I've seen this a couple of times. First of all, Leopard is a Universal Binary, so it will run on both PowerPC and Intel Macintoshes. That's the whole point of the Universal Binary. Even if NWP did require Leopard (which it prob...

Midwinter: Hell, we're all here for one reason or other—I hate using Word, can't stand the text display and lack of inline spell check in Appleworks, and using Mellel makes me want to gouge my eyes out. xiamenese: And then people get outraged about having to pay for an upgrade which adds significan...

You could create two columns on the first page, using the Columns palette in the Sections palette group. Then create a new section with only one column beginning on the next page
That's exactly what I did for my letterhead, while I wait for a graphic layer... It's very simple, actually.

On top of other requests, I'd like an automatic back-up in another location, as Nisus Classic had. I'd like to add that I am working with the longest documents all the time and have no problem navigating into them, and going back etc. etc. even with one window, thanks to the Find/Replace command. Ma...

We cannot be using the same software, rmwalker! I have had some of the problems you list at some point, but since Nisus Express 2.5 or 2.6, they have disappeared, all of them. I use Nisus for everything, from grocery lists to writing complicated reports with pages of footnotes and/or endnotes, with ...

I'm honestly not sure what we're supposed to do beyond suggesting that troublesome files be sent to Nisus and for bugs to be reported, preferences trashed, etc. ... or start thinking that we, the non-crashing population, are lucky to be enjoying a special protection from Heaven, Destiny or however ...

Lastly, NWX crashes fairly regularly. Maybe every few days, or once a week. So I set it to save files every ten minutes temporarily, but that facility itself is both slow and cumbersome to use... I am becoming tedious, I know: repair permissions, reconstruct the desktop, and trash plist (preference...
