Re: Desired NWP1.2 Features
If a vertical ruler is to be added to one of the forthcoming versions, I hope it can be shown/hidden separately from the horizontal one. While I like to have this latter open most of the time, I would only use the former when actually needed. I don't like the idea Nisus starts looking too much like ...

Re: Desired NWP1.2 Features
A few features that come to mind at the moment: 1) Custom space around illustrations. My illustrations are often cluttered against the text. 2) "Heading" paragraph styles automatically considered as targets in X-Refs. They are my most commonly used targets, and it's a shame one must add th...

Martin,
Any chance any embedded TIFF will be compressed in LZH? Photoshop does the trick, but I cannot say how they manage to make these pics still visible in the Finder and other applicatons.

Re: Select TOC levels when inserting a TOC?
Martin, It wouldn't hurt, also, if NWP comes with a set of TOC styles, in addition to the default one. This way, there wouldn't be any need to figure out how to build the most common types of TOCs (figures, tables, equations...) But I admit I would personally end up using my own custom styles... Paolo

Re: Linked graphics
Geoff, The last technical document I worked on in Nisus was a mere 25-pages document, weighting more than 90MB. Saving it on my Dual G5 takes forever. It might take less on a modern Intel Mac, but I suspect it is still a long time. In FrameMaker, with all linked illustrations, a similar document sav...

Linked graphics
As a technical writer, I create documents with heavy graphic files inside. If the graphic files can only be embedded, as in Nisus, documents ends up being huge. Using LinkBack (or any other technique) to only embed a link to external graphics files would decrease the Nisus document's size, and avoid...

I confirm it works as it should, under OS X 10.4.11 Italian. I can't check under Leopard.

Improving cross-references
Now that Mellel 2.5 is out, we can see that it implements a cross-reference system very similar to FrameMaker's powerful one. In particular, I like the way TOC items can be used as targets, and the cross-reference format fully customized. Hum. Maybe this is a hint for Nisus developers? As an everyda...

I don't know of free drawing programs, but these are excellent title offered at a very reasonable price: Intaglio (http://www.purgatorydesign.com/Intaglio/) Pixelmator (http://www.pixelmator.com/) VectorDesigner (http://www.tweakersoft.com/vectordesigner/) Lineform (http://www.freeverse.com/apps/app...

Re: Feature Request: Footnotes in Full Screen?
Since we are speaking of Full Screen, may I voice here for the auto-hiding of the vertical scrollbar while in this mode? This would remove the last distraction left.

Nisus Thesaurus Services shortcuts
Hi,
Is it only happening on the Italian system, that the Nisus Thesaurus Services shortcuts (Cmd-> and Cmd->) are overlapping with the Next/Previous Window system-wide shortcuts?
