Re: How to select paragraphs after other paragraphs with particular styles?

Thank you very much Martin. I'll give them a try and let you know how I get on.

How to select paragraphs after other paragraphs with particular styles?

Hi all, This new macro — which Martin modified to help me … thank you Martin … following my posting in https://nisus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=11975 — works really well. I do however need to know one more thing: how do I create a search for all paragraphs following a heading of any level, b...

Re: From Markdown Macro?

Thanks for trying it and reporting back Mark! The problem is that the macro does not handle some differences in your Markdown syntax. For example, your headings use this markdown: ##Heading 2## But the macro expects this markdown syntax: ## Heading 2 There's a few other small differences like that....

Re: From Markdown Macro?

I've downloaded and installed the "Markdown Preview" macro — thank you Bob Stern and Martin — from: https://nisus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4013 opened the following pretty simple .md file — zipped, as the forum doesn't support .md attachments Trial 2.md.zip and tried it. All that...

Re: From Markdown Macro?

Simple answer, Martin. :D I wrote my last post without seeing that Bob Stern had replied telling me about the existing macro (Thank you to Bob for giving the answer to my original request!) and while waiting for anyone to help, I had been trying to write my own. I'm on my iPad at the moment, but wil...

Re: From Markdown Macro?

Further to my last, having looked at my macros, I've been able to copy into a new one the code that asks which stylesheet to import, and using the code Find and Replace @Text<(^#\s)([^\n\f]+)(#$$)>, @Text<\2> 'EaU' Menu "Format:Paragraph Style:Heading 1" in a test file it finds the example...

Re: From Markdown Macro?

Thanks Brad, I've thought about Pandoc, but the learning curve on that seems steeper than trying to work out a macro, leaving aside the fact that when I last looked at Pandoc, it wouldn't install on my M1 MBA … or I couldn't get it to. I would also have to install it on my Intel iMac, also running M...

From Markdown Macro?

I've been reading the "To Markdown macro" thread: https://nisus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6800 But what I would really be interested in is a "From Markdown macro". Some of my work I'm now doing using MultiMarkdown and opening the files in Marked2 for proofing. However, a...

Re: Request: Find all by Formatting Examiner within selection

I too set shortcuts up in System Preferences for specific apps—like Scrivener—which don't have an internal shortcut system, but am careful not to override standard MacOS shortcuts. For Nisus, I always use the Nisus system as it's so flexible. After I'd posted my previous message, it struck me that I...

Re: Request: Find all by Formatting Examiner within selection

Can I ask **where** you set Cmd-G as a shortcut? Apple/Preferences or Nisus/Preferences. The latter should have warned you that that was already assigned to Find Next. On another note, to me one of the great things about the Nisus shortcuts is the ability to use multi-key shortcuts, so they can be q...

Re: Diacritics bizzare behaviour

I too can confirm it happening. M1 MacBook Air, MacOS 11.4. My iMac is now running Big Sur too, so I can no longer check under 10.15.

Re: Powerfind question

Thank you very much Martin. That's very helpful. Thinking back, I have used PowerFind Pro for very simple search & replaces, such as searching for \n\t to replace it with \n in documents sent to me by Chinese students or colleagues with random tabs following newlines. But I feel I'm getting too ...

Re: Powerfind question

Thanks Adrian,

Now why didn’t I think of that?

Basically, this is nearly my first excursion into the delights of Powerfind—PowerfindPro is another giant leap for this mere mortal!—so I was only thinking about wild cards.

Lesson learnt! :D

Powerfind question

In case I need it for the future. I have been editing the script for a video commentary. At the end of each paragraph I added an estimate of the time needed with (approx. ## secs), ## secs being the number of seconds of course. Before sending the finalised script, I wanted to remove that parenthesis...
