spellcheck gripe
In the old NW Classic when doing a spell check (or indeed a Find), the dialog box moved and/or text scrolled when a word was highlighted so that it could be seen. It would be nice if that could come back, it's very tiring constantly shifting the dialog box around the screen to see what's been found/...

Footnote divider
In NW classic I seem to recall that it was possible to set the distance between the horizontal line above the footnotes and the text above. Is this no longer possible? I have some text that is pretty much sitting on the line and it looks terrible.

Endnotes
Thanks for the suggestion but... When I clicked on "endnote" in the lime green whatever, all my footnotes disappeared completely and permanently and without trace. No sign of them at all, no endnotes, nothing. Even "undo" doesn't bring them back. Fortunately I have a backup... do...

Footnotes to endnotes
I can't find any instructions in online help or the user manual on how to change footnotes to endnotes. I've written an article and included quite a number of footnotes - the journal now wants me to format them as endnotes instead and I can't see how to change this.
Suggestions? Thanks!

Bug in Arabic script
Does anyone else use Arabic script in NWE 2.1.1? Is this a bug - I can't write a damma over a mim if the mim is the first letter of the word and I'm trying to follow it with another mim. The damma moves onto the second mim. Try writing mumarrida... مُمَرِّضة (Firefox does it ok, but if I cut and pas...

Highlight colour in Find function
Can anyone tell me how to change the highlight colour in the Find function. It's currently set at a drab grey, which makes it very hard to spot on the screen if I'm searching for an apostrophe (for example). I can't find anything in the manual. My default highlight is already set to fluo green, so t...

Keyboard shortcuts
I've had several unsuccessful attempts to change keyboard shortcuts. I also had this from Nisus: "Try this: 1. Choose Style Sheets from the View menu. 2. Select the Normal Style. 3. Select the Shortcut field. 4. Press the Delete key. That should do the trick." But it didn't work either. I'...

Changing preferences (was NW6 to NWE)
1. I spoke too soon. When I try and change the keyboard shortcut for paragraph normal, it reverts to cmd-` on quit. I can't get it to stay changed. Should I trash preferences or something like that?

NW6 not MW6
Of course I meant NW6 and not MW6. Is there even an MW6?

Questions from MW6 to NWE
As I'm sure many before me have found (and some yet to come will do) there are differences between NW6 and NWE. I've not yet found answers to the following and would be grateful for responses. 1. "Cmd =" used to cycle through open windows. What's the new shortcut? 2. I really liked the way...

Hi Charles, I tried after your last response, but neither a .doc nor a .msw extension make a differrence. The file opens completely empty, not even a gremlin, as far as I can see. I know it's not empty because I emailed it to a colleague who uses word who printed it out for me. Anything else I can t...
