Re: problems with font Futura
You may be confused on this point. By default the red coloring means that the font was substituted because the characters it was applied to are not contained in that font. For example, the Futura font does not contain any Hebrew characters, so NWP would show the font name "Futura" in red and choose...

Re: problems with font Futura
I've had a related problem with Futura in NWP so I'm interested in this topic. I've defined a paragraph style as well as a character style using Futura Light and applied them to a text. When I opened the document the next time, the font had changed to Futura Medium. Deselecting and re-selecting the ...

Re: Desired NWP 1.3 features
Thanks, Hamid, for pointing that out – it sort of slipped by me.
So let me rephrase the desideratum: Logical page numbers and physical page numbers in one display.

Desired NWP 1.3 features
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before and to what end – maybe it's just one of my weird ideas: I would like to have the total number of pages in the current document displayed in the status bar. For example: I'm currently writing a science fiction novel. Chapter 1 runs from page 1 to page 8...

Re: Desired NWP 1.3 features
There you go, you see, ninjagame, I read 13 stripes on the Mac interface and my left brain gets scrambled and I can't do simple arithmetic! Could it be the heat you complained about the other day? Shimmering, double images and the lot? How about around 0 °C and snowflakes in Hamburg :D ? ninj...

Re: Optional hyphen
Henry, Actually, I wouldn't really need a hyphenation pattern file for, say, German – although it would simplify things for me. What I'd need is a possibility to override cases of obviously nonsense hyphenation which Apple's internal hyphenation engine keeps producing now and then (I know that's not...

Re: Optional hyphen
No Macro needed - just customize your keyboard and you are done with it. Works like asked for. See the SHY thread up again for more... HE I really don't be rude or insistent but - to quote former German Secretary of State Joseph "Joshka" Fischer: "I'm not convinced!" A customized keyboard is just a...

ahem - last time I checked, it was 7 red and 6 white horizontal stripes, AFAIK symbolizing the first 13 states...greenmorpher wrote:Further to the above.
Here's how I suspect the US flag might look if the Mac interface designers had done the job.

Nisus Writer too! See other Topic: "All about SHYness - Soft Hyphenation - [SHY] U+00AD" or Search "SHY" for it... HE To be exact: Martin wrote a macro inserting a soft hyphen; see http://nisus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3118&p=14065&hilit=+SHY#p14065 Only catch is, it works only with OS 10.5.x...

@ Elbrecht
Elbrecht,
I'm thinking about using Ukelele but I'd like to know one thing first: Is it possible with Ukelele to disable the CAPS LOCK key? It's quite annoying hitting it accidently while typing fast and finding later that you've typed several lines in capitals.

Re: Desired NWP1.2 Features
But let's start asking for vertical writing features instead - the only way to get vertical rulers, may be! With LR and/or RL writing directions available only, vertical rulers look like nothing but layout features - vertical rulers are just not tab settings related. With TB (and/or BT) writing dir...

Re: Paragraph orientation "top to bottom"
Thanks, Martin, for the reply. To be honest, I figured this much but I wanted to be sure. Actually, I posted the question because my girlfriend, who is Japanese, is looking for a word processor to write a Japanese textbook for academic purposes; and somebody from the Japanese community here in Hambu...

Paragraph orientation "top to bottom"
I'd like to know if it is - or will someday be - possible with NWP to have a paragraph orientation from top to bottom and from right to left like e.g. in traditional Chinese? Furthermore, is there a possibility (or a workaround) to add auxiliary hiragana/katakana characters to kanji characters as it...
