Re: Something like "format painter"?

Thank you very much, Henry! That's just what I wanted. I searched the Help PDF, but didn't know it was called "dropper" :)

Great news!

Re: Something like "format painter"?

BTW, I did find this thread on Nisus Writer Express, in which users wanted this function for NWE, but I could find nothing on the forum for NWP and "format painter".

Something like "format painter"?

Hi, does NWP 1.4 or 2.0 have something like Word's Format Painter function, whereby one can select a paragraph and copy its formatting to another paragraph? I just imported a WORD contract template that needs a lot of editing, and this feature would help a lot. I don't really want to go to the work ...

Re: Multi-page PDF in background for commenting?

Thank you, Henry. I'm afraid I didn't (don't) know exactly how to do what I want with Preview, but since you say it's possible, I'll check it out. Also, I contacted the good folks at PDFPen (http://www.smilesoftware.com), and they gave me this reply: I am not sure of a way to provide the exact form ...

Multi-page PDF in background for commenting?

My goal is to have a PDF file imported and shrunk in from the margins such that I can easily use NWP 1.4.2 make running comments on the PDF file's text. Then I want to print out the original PDF with my comments on one normal page. I was told that it's possible to put the PDF in the background someh...

Re: Delete repetitive spaces

Thank you both, Henry and Martin. I'll try both ways. I think, Martin, that I did what you said except that I didn't know about the 1+ gizmo. I can't look at it today, but maybe tomorrow. Thanks again!

Delete repetitive spaces

Well, this must be a real Newbie question. I have a text with sometimes two or more white spaces where only one should be. I cannot get any of the three ways of doing search and replace in NWP (1.4.2) to replace them. I was used to Word (Win) where you just type in spaces in the find box and then th...

Re: Numbered Outline/Report Template

Hello, All, I'm new to NWPro, at least as far as using any of it's more advanced features. What I'd like to do is have a way to regularly make outlines with many levels of headings which have explanatory text under them. However, I want to be able to print out the entire full outline with explanator...

Re: How to insert a tab inside a table

Glad to find this post. I had the same problem. As it turns out Keyboard Maestro had captured my Option-Tab sequence. DIsabled that and now I can tab within a cell. :)

Re: The way underlining appears

Well, in general I agree with your position, but I wasn't thinking of a book. :) But I think I have seen some serious books with underlining in them, though very, very few indeed. In any case, it'd be nice if there were a nicer way to do something some think no professional typographer would "ever" ...

Re: The way underlining appears

Thank you, Martin, for your reply. I had a hunch that was the way it is. I think the reason that feature doesn't set well with me is that the underline itself seems so bold -– disproportionately thick. Is there anything I can do to thin it down?

The way underlining appears

This is probably a very newbie question, but I've noticed that no matter what Latin-based font I use, NWP (1.4.1 at this point) underlines in such a way that the underline's line does not cut through the portions of letters below the baseline. Can anything be done to change that? I would prefer a th...

Command to Redo, but in a different context? (~Control-Y)

As a convert from Windows WORD to Mac and NWP, I often wish there were some way in NWP to Redo the last action, but in a different context. This is not Shift-Command-Z, which is basically "Go back to what it was one step earlier". Rather, in WORD and Excel and maybe other MS products, when you selec...
