Re: Insertion Point in Find/Replace

Hi Adrian,
I just know that I have seen this problem off and on, including once in NW3. Currently it seems to be okay.
As for the Find Box text size: I set the Zoom of the Find Box to 300%, which solves the "too small" problem for me.

I know what you mean, but this bug is inconsistent. It may depend on the font and font-size setting of the Find Box, and other things.

Re: Macro command to Import from Style Library…

Hello vw, there is no specific command to import styles. The macro language has a command to add styles to a document though. You'll need the document object. So it looks like this: $doc = Document.active $doc.addStyles $myStyle This command can also take an argument to tell it what to do in case of...

I'm not sure what you mean. My version of NW3 has a help pdf dated October 7, 2018. There is also an online version https://nisus.com/pro/help/

Re: A “Convert Text to Notes.nwm” macro?

Hello lellius, I'm sorry you are having trouble with this. As the (age old) discussion above alludes to, this macro is rather delicate. I am trying yet another fix. The current version now has the delimiters changed to double brackets. I hope this helps. If it still doesn't work, just write again. C...

Re: multiplication

Is there actually nobody using NW Pro with this kind of problem ? No, the rest of us do not have this problem. Yohanan, I would recommend that you stop digging around in these folders. If you want to know where your style library files are you should use the Document Manager or the commands in the ...

Re: Automating PDF export with multiple files

This looks to me like "Save As PDF [path]" is broken. Without the path, the command asks to where to save the file (and automatically changes the extension). But with a path it sends the document to the printer (and ignores the path completely).

Time for a bug report.

Re: Selecting first paragraphs of chapters

Hello again. I am attaching a macro that will select the first paragraph after the requested heading paragraphs. This macro will not change the indentation, you can just do that once the paragraphs have been selected. (Alternately you can apply a style to the selected paragraphs and change their ind...

Re: Selecting first paragraphs of chapters

Hi Kadah, the short answer to your question is 'yes'. But to do this one will need more information. How can one recognize Chapters, sub-chapters in your document? Are you using styles ("Heading 1", etc.)? A macro thread that discusses this kind of problem can be found here . If you need help with h...

Re: basic knowledge of Nisus templates

Hello Yohanan, nice to hear that you chose to work with NIsus Writer. I redefined the Nisus New File.dot as well as the Normal document.dot in the Templates file, within the file: "Nisus Project" and just created a new document from these (tried both after the following failure). It just kept to tak...

Re: Move Comments to Marked Text (in one swell foop)—Solved

In short: arrayByMakingValuesDoCommand is "Map" in other languages. I wonder: is there an equivalent to "Filter" and "Reduce?" I see. So JavaScript has this kind of thing. Nisus arrayByMakingValuesDoCommand is a bit more limited than map, since you can only use it for maps of arrays of objects usin...

Re: Applying style to paragraphs below found text until next style

I insert the page breaks with the insertion point at the end of the line of the paragraph previous to the one that is to be the heading on the next page. Oddly enough, this inserts a blank paragraph above the heading on the next page (which I remove with a forward delete). This method shows a parag...

Re: Applying style to paragraphs below found text until next style

So in the end I would really recommend the 'holistic' method, though that too would require some adjustments for handling multiple Heading styles. Anyhow here is the macro for that. The heading paragraph text selections are gathered one style at a time for each of the heading styles, and then all c...

Re: "Save As" bug?

No, this is not a bug. If you want to create a new file from an existing one, keeping the original, I recommend getting in the habit of doing the "Save As" before you start editing. It may be possible to use "Undo" to restore the original—if you don't have too many edits, and you haven't closed the ...
