Re: Problem with section-based endnotes

You can have endnotes per section; just make sure that in the Endnote style Place popup you have End of Section checked:

Re: Problem with section-based endnotes

Also, I noticed that when you insert the first endnote reference in a document which already has footnotes, the endnote field to enter the endnote text is not activated. Even double-clicking the endnote reference does not make it active. Only closing and reopening the document and then double-clicki...

Re: Is it possible to footnote a footnote ?

It is possible to place a footnote reference within a footnote text as a cross reference. For example, in footnote text you can have: "See footnote 32 above.", in which "32" is an automatic number which refers to footnote number 32 in the same document; if more footnotes are added and "32" becomes "...

I suspect your Express license key may have moved inside NWP's Sandbox container.
You can retrieve your license key(s) from this page:

Re: Language palette with Japanese

Also, would it be possible to make it show a different dictionary or the Japanese thesaurus which I also have installed in Dictionary.app? In Dictionary app Preferences, in the list of dictionaries installed, check the box next to the name of the dictionary for its suggestions to appear in NWP's La...

Re: Same Nisus set-up on two computers

The easiest way to transfer everything from the old machine to the new one is to use Migration Assistant: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204350 A second license for NWP will not be needed: You may use a copy of the software on a second or portable computer, as long as the extra copy is never Load...

Re: New File Format

It should be possible. Assuming you want page number two to start numbering at 1: 1. Set the Restart At 0 pageZero.png 2. Insert page number in header or footer. DifferentFirstPage.png 3. Check Different First Page. (This will hide 0). When the document has more than one page, the second page will s...

Re: "Superscript" & "Show invisibles" fail to display in 2.1

The images can be in any image file format. The original images used to make icons are not linked in any way to your icon library; they are only used to create their icons. NWP does that, and it places the icons, in tiff image format, in your toolbar icon library. When you remove them from your Tool...

Re: "Superscript" & "Show invisibles" fail to display in 2.1

I can't figure out what steps you are following to get that result. Here is how to proceed: To add a custom toolbar item to the Toolbar, Right-click the Toolbar and apply the menu 'Add Custom Toolbar Item...'. You will be presented with the Add Custom Toolbar Item pane: CustToolbarItem.png Select th...

Re: "General input/output" error-- .doc files as digital sou

That is caused by a bug which wrongly checks the 'Ignore Rich Text Commands' box in the Open dialog for some files. The bug has been reported and should be fixed. Normally, by default, that box should be unchecked. In the meantime, in the Open dialog, uncheck the 'Ignore Rich Text Commands' box if y...

Re: The Nisus Writer Pro Statusbar

This appears to be a bug. I notice that the Statusbar sometimes appears in both views in Full Screen mode and sometimes it does not. Also when exiting full screen the Statusbar sometimes remains hidden if it was hidden in full screen view. If you are in Page view and then enter full screen and switc...

Re: Old style figures not persisting in styles

I cannot reproduce the problem you describe. My style sheet looks like this: OldStyleFigures.png As you can see, Heading 1 is not based on Normal, and Heading 2 is not based on Heading 1. Typography options for Old Style Figures and Lining are available in the font used and defined in the Style Sheet.
