Re: deleting paragraph style B and replacing it with paragraph style A
Two other points might interest you, @shmuel: 1) You can access "All in Style" from the paragraph Icon in the status bar at the bottom … Screenshot 2019-10-26 17.04.23.png 2) A while back, I think it was Martin who posted a macro to remove unused styles. I can't find it quickly in the repository, so...

Re: removing attribute overrides in Footnote Note Style
Philip, thank you so much for this. Do you know that in all my years of using Nisus Writer (Pro), it had always puzzled me why "Footnote Style" did not appear on the style lists, and why, on opening RTFs from Scrivener, I had to select all footnotes and set the style parameters I want! At least I no...

Heartily endorse that!
I normally update my OS at .1 or .2 of a new version, but with Catalina I'm going to hold my horses and wait to be sure that all the gremlins have been squashed.

Re: Print specific pages
Have you tried entering something like 3–5, 11–15 or whatever the ranges you need are into that box? I’m on my iPad at the moment with a Samsung printer that doesn’t support air print … so there’s no way I can test it out. That used to be how you set complex page ranges.

Re: Macro to assign style
Can I ask what may be stupid questions? Why do you need a macro to do this? You can very easily create keyboard shortcuts for each of your styles in Nisus Preferences, so why would having to invoke a macro and then a combination of key strokes to select a given style be an improvement? To me it seem...

Re: Space around lists, quotations, etc.
This is all very interesting. In the past I’ve done such padding manually, which is time consuming. I’ll try the macro later, but looking at it, I have one suggestion: would it be possible to modify it so that the amount of padding could be set at run-time rather than being a given amount (12pt) cod...

Re: Black Border
It's anything but sunny here in London, but you can draw a box round the name using the shape tool, and set it to have no fill, which should do what you want.

Re: Old documents in Dock
On the other hand, I have just tried by editing a file, making changes to it by running a macro, changing the styles of paragraphs, then shutting down NWP. I normally open all my apps using Spotlight, which also lists the recently opened files, and the newly saved file is listed, and if I open NWP w...

Re: Every time I work on an existing document it saves as a copy?
It sounds to me as if you’ve got "Open as New Copy" turned on somehow. I’m on my iPad at the moment, so can’t check, but will do so in due course. Someone else might come along first with a more definitive answer, or if you keep your eyes peeled, you may spot it yourself.

Re: Japanese top>bottom, right>left
Yes, vertical text works in TextEdit, Numbers and Keynote on my 17" MBP running High Sierra 10.13.6. I don't have pages on this machine, but as it works on those three, and in works in Pages on 10.14, I'm sure it will on 10.13.

Yes, it works in the latest version of pages—and apparently in Keynote and Numbers too. TextEdit too.

Re: Japanese top>bottom, right>left
I hate to say it, but Scrivener can do it and export it successfully to either .docx or .rtf both of which open successfully Word. Opening the files in NWP, much as I love it, reverts to right-to-left, top-to-bottom. Mark PS. My screenshot is too large to attach, so here's a link: https://www.dropbo...

Re: NWP 3.0 and Erroneous Spellcheck
That is indeed the case, it seems. There is a lot on the Scrivener forums and in many other places on the internet, apparently, and has been reported to Apple. Someone in Apple it seems decided it would be a good idea to integrate a degree of grammar checking into the spell-check system in 10.14 … w...

Re: Hardware Reqs NW 3 vs 2.1
Since Nisus give you a 15 day free trial, why don’t you download it and give it a try. If you are worried about causing problems with version 2.1, just create a temporary account on your computer, and run it in that, perhaps from a folder in that account rather than the main Applications folder—thou...
