Re: Spell Catcher problem in Nisus

The most likely cause of the unwanted keyboard change is your language preferences in Nisus Writer. We let the user optionally associate separate keyboard layouts for each language. For example, you can have Nisus Writer automatically activate the French keyboard layout every time you enter some Fre...

How do I change the size of comment text?

You can change the font size of comments in your document by adjusting the Comment paragraph style. This is a special style that Nisus Writer automatically applies to all comments by default. If you edit this style to change its formatting (eg: font size), your comment text will be updated automatic...

There is no such date search feature, but we'll certainly add it to our list of potential future enhancements. Thank you for your feedback!

Re: Query about why 'wrong' date is showing

After reviewing privately submitted sample emails, they confirm what I suspected: these emails are not standard. Specifically they are missing a date header entirely. This is why InfoClick falls back to using the email file modification time (as cached by Apple Mail), which doesn't necessarily have ...

Why can't my file be saved?

In rare circumstances you might see an alert that says you do not have permission to save your document: alert.png This alert may suggest you should fix the file's permissions in the Finder; this is most likely misleading. The problem is more likely caused by a macOS security feature called sandboxi...

Re: deleting paragraph style B and replacing it with paragraph style A

Great advice and suggestions all around, thanks everyone! It's wonderful having such helpful and good natured users :) Although the original question seems thoroughly answered now, I still want to point out this FAQ topic on searching for formatted text . It covers some of the techniques discussed a...

Adrian already replied with all the right info (thanks!), but I just wanted to help with the second suggestion, in case you decide to customize your template. Please see our FAQ topic on how to customize your New File template window.

Re: Query about why 'wrong' date is showing

Thank you for the screenshots and possible bug report. That certainly doesn't look correct. If Apple Mail is showing the date as Nov 2015, then InfoClick should not show Oct 2019. My first suspicion is that the email is malformed, or perhaps the date is encoded in a non-standard format. In that situ...

Why do images in old documents fail to appear properly?

If your old Nisus Writer document has an image that appears incorrectly on screen the most likely problem is that the image is using the legacy Mac PICT image data format. PICT images are a very old Apple technology (originally from "classic" OS 9) that has fallen into disrepair and should be consid...

Re: Problem in saving new files

It sounds like Nisus Writer lost access to your Nisus New File template, which incorrectly triggered the alerts about discarding formatting. That isn't exactly how it should work. Nisus Writer should have alerted you to the fact that your template was inaccessible at the moment you created a new fil...

Re: Problem in saving new files

That's very strange, and I'm not sure what would cause that problem, but it certainly could be related to problems with your New File template. That seems like a good place to start in trying to fix this. One question regarding the error alert shown in the New File preferences: when does that appear...

Version 3 adds this functionality to the main menu via Edit > Transform Paragraphs > Remove Line Breaks. The old "Form Paragraph" macro is no longer needed. Sorry for the confusion, but I hope that helps!

How do I reset Nisus Writer Express's sandbox container?

In some situations you may want to reset the sandbox container for Nisus Writer Express. This is sometimes necessary to fix odd problems related to file access or permission errors. The system (macOS) will sometimes show an alert that claims you do not have permission to save a file you created or o...

Re: Not finding emails

I might suspect that InfoClick is missing emails stored in different folders on disk. Apple often changes the name of the inner email folder, eg: from V6 to V7. If you made a more drastic system upgrade, Apple may have changed the location of the email folder entirely. Please double check your InfoC...
