Mavericks

This topic is just a stub for the first person who asks "Will NWP 2.0.4 support OS X Mavericks?", "When will Nisus support Mavericks?", etc. It's been over 36 hrs already, surely someone will soon...

I thought I'd save you having to start your own thread. :)

Re: Nisus Pro and the Mac App store

Cocktail is nerdy? AND most users have no need for it? It revived my MacBook Pro when it seemed hopelessly scrambled and the tools Apple supplies couldn’t fix it. And that was just using the presets with one or two easy-to-use different settings. Not what I said and certainly not what I meant. But ...

Re: Nisus Pro and the Mac App store

As a general rule buying new software from the Mac App Store is an excellent idea, it's simpler and far less confusing for installs, more reliable for updates and it centralises the user experience for software purchase and updates in a way that makes it easier for the non-experts. It's way easier t...

Re: Look up words in “Dictionary.app”

I I don't remember if you have to set that up specifically in the appropriate system preferences. Mark I suppose one should twiddle something or other for your method to work, for I tried it, and the result was that I went from highlighted word to highlighted sentence, as is usual with the Mac. The...

Re: Need some clarification(s)

Hi Martin, My larger question is more global, and is in fact likely to be a problem created by Apple. I purchased my Intel iMac with a pre-loaded version of OSX-10.6 and based on discussion on the Nisus User Forums, have come to suspect that Rosetta --- which seems to be an optional installation --...

Re: new release

The latest version of Nisus Writer Express supports only Intel Macs running OS X 10.6.6 or later (yes, they really should remove that universal binary logo on the NWE information pages on their website), do you perhaps still use a PowerPC Mac? Or perhaps an Intel Mac running an earlier version of OS...

Apple are doing their level best to keep you safe from trojans, viruses and so forth. Here's an explanation of Gatekeeper you should read.

Now that 10.8 is out there'll be no further security updates to 10.6.8. The sharks are circling, good luck.

Re: I've got a two week window to download a newq version!

As if Geoff would be interested in 10.8! Isn't he still on 10.6.8 or something? BTW Geoff, I hate to tell you but it seems Apple have now withdrawn 10.7.4 from the App Store, so you're apparently stuck on 10.6 until you upgrade your Mac. It's a little odd for sure, you'd think they'd be keen to enco...

So why does http://roaringapps.com/app:1792 still report: Doesn't work in 10.8? Should they be... prosecuted?

They seem to be talking about NWP 2.0 for some reason, not 2.0.2. And it seems even 2.0.2 has some minor issues with OS X 10.8.

Re: iPad compatible NWP?

QuickOffice on iOS supports RTF. However, since all wordprocessors for iOS are way more limited than NWP, I doubt everything can be kept unchanged. Paolo Not according to their support forums it doesn't. Quickoffice for iOS only supports viewing RTF documents, it doesn't support creating or editing...

Re: Nisus for iPad

Scrivener are working on an iOS version , it's apparently due out sometime lateish this year. I don't know if it'll support RTF export and import like the Mac version but assuming it does then it may prove the best way to exchange RTF documents between OS X and iOS. Currently there are quite a few u...

Re: Nisus Writer Pro with OS 10.8

You are not "evaluating" 10.8, you are testing it. Mountain Lion is not production software, it's still a Developer Preview release. I.e. a beta product, not ready for prime time, not guaranteed to work with existing application software, it's known to have many bugs. Bugs you are supposed...

Re: Autosave & versions

I'm with robertb, Lion's new document model kicks ass! I much prefer using apps like TextEdit now simply because they support the NDM with auto-save and versions. Apps that haven't been updated to implement it seem creaky and old fashioned in comparison. If it's possible to make it a preference sett...

Re: Urgent questions

I guess I don't want to have to be switching between NWP and NWE--the last time I had to switch to NWE because Nisus was not working on NWP any longer... What on earth are you talking about? Nisus have been working on NWP ever since it was released, they have never stopped working on it. I can thin...
