Re: String interpolation question

I guess the question is probably directed to Martin because, let's face it, he's probably the only one who can tell you something you don't know about NWP macro language :) Anyway, I will humbly propose one of my usual kludges: how about inserting a special character e.g. Non-breaking zero width spa...

Re: Questions re highlighting and keyboard shortcuts

1) How about defining a character style (based on Normal style + highlighting) and add a keyboard shortcut to it? Screen Shot 2022-02-18 at 21.01.53.png The shortcut acts as a toggle: you can use it to both add and remove the character style. One caveat only when removing the style: you have to sele...

Re: Bold word leads to bold underline?

If you really need/want to use the described formatting you could resort to bolding a few spaces where needed.
The bold spaces will not be noticeable and will cause the underline to get thicker.

Re: Equation editors on the Mac?

Maybe I know what's happening. Did you insert the equation image dragging from Latexit to NWP? I just made a test and when I drag the equation I can replicate the issue you described in your post (the equation is not re-opened in Latexit when double-clicked). Please, try copying the equation to the ...

Re: Equation editors on the Mac?

I just tried inserting an equation in PNG format and I can re-open it in Latexit double-clicking on the equation in NWP. The behaviour shown on your system doesn't seem normal but I'm not sure what's going on. Note: after you modify the equation in Latexit and press the "Latexit" button to...

Re: Equation editors on the Mac?

I use and recommend Latexit . It is open source, frequently updated, can export vectorial images (PDF) and support Linkback (you can double click an equation in NWP document and the equation opens in Latexit for editing. The modified equation is automatically substituted to the old one in the NWP do...

Re: Finding superscript ordinal numbers

Thank you Adryan and Philip. I didn't know that you can command click individual hits in the Find Results window to add/subtract them from the selection. That's indeed useful. There's only a small detail to notice: command clicking an hit doesn't scroll the document to show the hit (as it does when ...

Re: Finding superscript ordinal numbers

Checking the results before formatting is for sure a sensible piece of advice. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that the only way to delete a false positive is to re-select it keeping the ⌘ key pressed. Is there any other/better way? I'm asking because I find the described de-selection operation...

Re: Is "Find Next" possible by attribute (text colour)

Have you tried the Formatting Examiner palette? The FE is one of the most useful and flexible additions in NWP3.

You just have to select the attribute (blue text color in your case) and use the arrows.

Re: Equation numbering methods.

Adrian, you're right, there's for sure room for improvements when it comes to figure/table captions and equation numbering (e.g. simpler ways to create numbering per chapter or create figure/tale lists, etc; all possible now but no so smooth). Re vertical adjustment of baseline, I noticed that hover...

Re: Equation numbering methods.

Hi Adrian, your method works perfectly. Thanks for the tip! My example was purposely extreme but I guess the number of a significant proportion of equations will be off-center (even though by a small amount). The table method automatically takes care of the vertical aligment of the numbers but Marti...

Re: Equation numbering methods.

Martin, ingenious indeed but placing the equation image inline you'll end up with the equation number aligned with the bottom of the image.
The effect is apparent when inserting multiline equations.

Are there any soutions to this problem?

Move table rows

I downloaded a couple of macros to move table rows up/down (written by @phspaelti and shared in the thread https://nisus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6732&p=30721&hilit=move+table+rows+Down#p30721). The "Move down" macro works perfectly but the "Move up" macro doesn...

Re: Macro command to Import from Style Library…

Have you tried granting access to the specific file you are going to use (Case Report.rtf)? The message reads "file doesn't exist" so it seems to expect a file. In any case the Macro Reference suggests to use the built-in macro "Manage Macro File Access" to grant access once and ...
