Is there a way to strip "Track Changes" from the document?
I realize this is a bit unusual, but here's my scenario. I file legal documents through the court system, and they have particular requirements. One is that all documents are either PDF's or, for documents that the Court may adjust like a proposed order, in RTF. This makes Nisus perfect, since RTF i...

Re: Unable to rename and save a document
This sounds like a sandboxing issue. Questions: is the document located in a non standard location (I mean, outside of the Documents folder--like on the desktop or something?) Did it work prior to upgrading, and did you upgrade from a version of Nisus prior to Nisus 2.1? Try moving the original docu...

Time to revise this old thread. In the next update are we going to be able to tab over into palettes?

Re: Inserting file
Just as a note to Martin: LinkBack was designed for this, no? This is another case where allowing Nisus to be a LinkBack source as well as a receiver would be handy.

Re: LibreOfficeImporter hanging
I've noticed this issue with the LibreOffice importer taking a 99% usage a few times; it usually resolves after a minute or so. Not sure what triggers it; it seems to be relatively random (I've seen it both with and without Nisus open, but Nisus had been open prior to it appearing). Obviously going ...

Re: Relative path to linked image
Does sandboxing prevent Nisus from accessing documents in the same folder as the open document? Again, I am thinking of a document that has links to other documents that are in the same folder... kind of like the rtfd format currently used by Nisus. That hasn't been taken away, has it? I'm still try...

Re: Devs: Split View Prognosis Please
This doesn't seem like it would be terribly hard to implement if you are using standard cocoa views. As long as you keep track of which one is the "active" one, and I think Cocoa enforces a "which window is active" scheme anyway, it's just a series of views all tied to the same c...

Re: sections, headers and columns
To resurrect this old topic rather than post a new one: Is there any way to let Nisus know which header or footer to display on the page? I've got a document that changes sections partway through the page. Section A has page numbering in lowercase roman, centered in the footer. Section B changes the...

Re: Question about Edit--->Complete Feature
It appears that the completion list doesn't scan the document you are in to build the list? I have a name in my document, but the only suggestions this is bringing up seem to be standard, popular names. Is that the case?

Re: Autosave
The only thing I can think of is to cd into your applications directory or wherever Nisus Writer is installed and run it again. The application name is indeed "Nisus Writer Pro"; or at least identifies as that in it's info.plist. "com.nisus.NisusWriter" is another one. Either sho...

Re: Saving documents
What you are experiencing is from the move to more.... modern (I use that term advisedly in this case) Apple tech. Starting with OS X 10.7, also known as Lion, Apple introduced a slew of updates regarding file saving; from versions to autosave to; well, a bunch of stuff. The long and short of it is ...

Re: "Facing Columns"
I know, I've heard the rumors of a new Canvas as well. Even if it's just Canvas X brought back to life, that's still better than anything else out there. And I'd love to link Nisus and Canvas together, just as in the old days with publish and subscribe!

Re: "Facing Columns"
And here is an example of where it would make sense for Nisus to be a Linkback provider.... according to the website, iCalamus accepts Linkback! So you could write and edit your text in Nisus, and link back would update it in iCalamus. To handle the situation in this thread, you could have two docum...

Pleased with Nisus and 2.1
I just wanted to say I am very happy with this 2.1 release process; Martin has been very active solving bugs and the quick beta of 2.1.1 that has fixed numerous bugs is outstanding. Kudos to Nisus for this entire release! Most of the changes in 2.1 appear to be bug fixes and under the hood tech chan...

Re: Apparent serious bug in 2.1
I'm using Omnigraffle 6, direct (not from the app store). Linkback itself seems to work in Omnigraffle; other things update. Didn't know that about Nisus not being a link back provider. Makes sense; but maybe a field code like for an index entry could work too. A coloration of text that is link back...
