Re: Printing Issue with NWP 3.0.3 and WF-3540 Epson Inkjet Printer

It was definitely the printer. After consulting both Apple and Epson support teams with no improvement, I broke down and bought a new Epson 4730 printer on sale ($80 off!), installed it myself (with much sense of accomplishment!!), and printed with it. Voila! Lovely letters and envelopes from NWP in...

Re: Printing Issue with NWP 3.0.3 and WF-3540 Epson Inkjet Printer

Adrian, Many thanks for your detailed reply. Most appreciated. I believe you are right about the Epson printer being the source of the problem. Like you, I am seeing a new dialog box when I print any document — from NWP, Pages, or Adobe — and I have the same issue with any document I print, no matte...

Printing Issue with NWP 3.0.3 and WF-3540 Epson Inkjet Printer

Using NWP 3.0.3 and my WF-3540 Epson printer, I have suddenly developed a printing issue. In the past, when I have printed a document, I would choose "Quality" and the printed document would come out slowly with very good quality text. Tonight, when I print a document, no matter what quality I choos...

Re: Limitations on Text Size

adryan,

I don't think the manual is correct on that. I've used decimal point sizes to great effect in previous documents. This time, instead of allowing me to use the even decimals – I.e., 10.2, 10.4, etc. – the font would only resize to 10.1, 10.3, and so forth. Weird.

Limitations on Text Size

Yesterday I was trying to resize text from 10.0 pt. to 10.2 pt. I selected the text, entered 10.2 pt. into the size box, and hit enter. My text re-sized to 10.1, not 10.2, and nothing I could do would change that.

Please refresh my memory. Are there limitations to the decimal point sizes one can use?

Re: Yosemite

I upgraded to Yosemite last Friday, and I did not find any incompatibility with Nisus Word Pro per se. However, I did find that several – quite a few actually – of my fonts did not work properly in either Nisus Word Pro, Pages 5, Pages '09, TextEdit, or Mellel. (Nisus Word Pro is the word processor ...

Please Help Correct This By Submitting a Bug Report to Apple

I recently discovered that an inability to toggle between old-style and lining figures in certain fonts originates from the development of Mavericks. I have submitted a bug report through Apple.com, and I would appreciate other members of this forum submitting bug reports as well. You could just cop...

A Question About Kerning: TWIPS

Am I correct in understanding that TWIP means “twentieth of an inch point”? If so, if I want to loosen the spacing of letters in a word in small caps set in 10 pt by 6%, do I use 12 TWIPS? 10 pt X 6% X 20 TWIPS/pt = 12 TWIPS Is that correct? Would it be possible to change the kerning units to percen...

Re: Bug Report for Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.6 Running in OS X 10

Martin,

I updated to version 2.0.7, and small caps can now be toggled on and off in every OpenType font that I tried.

Many, many thanks.

Bug Report for Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.6 Running in OS X 10.9

I am running Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.6 and OS X 10.9 (Mavericks). In the Typography window within the Font Window (accessed by clicking on the gear in the Font Window), everything seems to be working as it should under OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) EXCEPT : When I click on Small Caps for Lower Case letters, th...
