Re: Can't directly select text over/under a graphic
Hi Steven- sending the square shape to the back should work. Once you've done that, clicking in the space occupied by both the floating square and text box should select the topmost item (instead of the one you sent to the back). Please let me know if that helps, or if you continue to have troubles...

Can't directly select text over/under a graphic
Hi, Maybe I'm doing something basic wrong, but I can't figure out how to select text when I have a basic 'shape' around it. Example: --I put a block of text on the page. --I put a square 'shape' around it with no fill, so it's just a border. --Now I want to edit the text, but I can't, because whenev...

Re: Cropping image support; improper use of term in manual
Aha, yes. And I read the section in the manual too. That's what I get for scanning the text quickly and thinking I already knew the answer. Sorry.

Cropping image support; improper use of term in manual
Hi, As far as I understand, the term 'cropping' is accepted as used for cutting down an image, not resizing it. See Wikipedia on this; probably other places as well. So: the Nisus manual uses the term incorrectly to refer to 'resizing', not to cropping. True cropping would be very useful. Could this...

Re: otf font displays incorrectly
NWP does support OTF fonts as much as the OSX text engine allows, but that should be at least as much as TextEdit provides. Are you seeing something different? Thanks, I was before, but I downloaded and re-installed and mine looks like this in NWP also. The problem I had at first was that the Chemi...

otf font displays incorrectly
Hi, Does Nisus pro 2.01 supposedly support otf fonts? I have just downloaded a free one that displays well in TextEdit, but Nisus does it poorly. The problem is that it's using some sort of greying out -- it's a handwriting font, Chemist Rough -- and Nisus instead fills in everything fully black. Te...

Copies of image are added to file size; why necessary?
Hi, I'm working on a file that will have three copies of the same image at different points in the document. It will go to print, so it has to be high resolution, about 500K for the image. I've discovered by a simple save of the rtf file that Nisus doesn't handle this as I'd expect -- it adds 1.5MB ...

Re: Bug: Caption Color Reverts when in 'depends on' color st
Hi Steven- thanks for writing up this issue. Unfortunately even with your detailed description I'm unable to reproduce the problem. Probably I just missed or misunderstood something, but could you please post (or email) a sample file that shows the bug? Thanks for your help! Hi Martin, OK, I've cut...

Re: Shape with caption, stroke and shadow go around caption
Perhaps as a work around, use a two row, one column table, with the image in the top row and the caption in the bottom row. NOt ideal, but get you there until a real option exists. Right, nice try. :-) Except my shape is floating in the middle of a justified paragraph (which flows around it). A tab...

Bug: Caption Color Reverts when in 'depends on' color style
Hi, I'm working with captions in NWP2. I noticed that two of my captions embedded in a blue colored text paragraph had become blue, which seemed odd; but one didn't (out of three shapes that are in a section of blue paragraphs) so I changed the two odd-balls back to black. Then this happens: 1. The ...

Shape with caption, stroke and shadow go around caption
Hi, Here's my issue in NWP2: I have several figures (jpgs) that have captions. I've decided that the core jpgs themselves would look better with a bit of edge stroke and shadow. But! When I select and apply, say, a stroke, it goes all the way around the outside of the caption, not just the jpg itsel...

Re: Couldn't log in -- Forum lost my registration?
Hi Steven, Aside from your account accidentally getting swept away like that, which seems somewhat unlikely because no others have complained, I'm not sure how to explain what happened. Is there anything else you can think of that might have affected your account? No. The only thing I can think of,...

Couldn't log in -- Forum lost my registration?
Hi, I used to post to this forum once in a while, then I didn't for a few months (maybe 4). I tried to log in today, and the forum didn't recognize me. I have my username, email, and password recorded so I know they're correct. I re-registered with the same ones. Now I have '1 post' (after posting t...

Re: PDF Link Styles
Hi, Alright, I see, thanks. Also I noticed that creating a PDF Link style in Normal, or in any other template, or in a new document, this will override the default style NWP creates when a document is exported to pdf. No clutter. The style appears only where needed. Am I right? Henry. I just spent a...
