Thank you ever so much Hamid! And thank you for the page break tip.
It worked beautifully after I took out all the page breaks but the one where I wanted to split.

Re: Why do you choose Nisus?
From this picture, I should say: very much so. It seems to be some 18 months old, true, but I still opt for yes and yes.NBRN asked: I read an article (piece of a book) about Nisus history and I was wondering if Jerzy Lewak is still alive and working with Nisus

Re: Why do you choose Nisus?
I use Nisus since the day Word 5.1 “swallowed” the first three chapters of a novel I had just started before I had printed them. We were in 1990. I cannot remember exactly how it happened, but I remember calling support, they answering it should not have happened but could not help mi. Didn't I have...

How to split a large file in two?
I have a 540 pages files I want to split in two without having to select, drag and paste the second half, which would take forever.
Nisus has a “merge” command, but I cannot find a "split" command.
I don't find a macro for this operation either.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks!

Re: NW for iPad?
there's a new iPad Editor with very very powerful features (very nice Text-Snippets function, Macro-System etc). It's plain text and Markdown like a lot of others, but it might be the most powerful. (Not affiliated with the publisher, but I may have to get an iPad becaus of this;-)) http://www.omz-...

Re: InfoClick, Maverick and Google
]It's not nearly as convenient, but don't forget that with gmail you can always log onto Google's web interface and view your email there. All your messages should still be intact, even if Apple Mail won't show them to you. Well, that is the hic: there is nothing left there! Some bug in Maverick co...

InfoClick, Maverick and Google
I feel quite silly writing this, because this should never have happened to me. But it did. I upgraded to Maverick, I had a back-up of the whole HD one week old, and another three months old. I opened Maverick, opened mail, and ALL my Gmail mails disappeared. Just like that. In a second. It took me ...

Re: Pointless Article
Well, what about showing off some arcane knowledge (may not so arcane in California, but in England, you know…) to let you appreciate the research skills of a journalist who couldn't say a word about technical details (how boring) but shares his discovery of Maverick-the-Dog, which has the added adv...

Re: Chapter numbers
In the meantime, you could also use (as I do) Section Break between chapters. I find it very useful – so useful that I had forgotten the Chapter feature of Nisus Classic, which I also used.

Re: NW for iPad?
I have given up on Nisus for iPad, and have been working with an interesting application, iA Writer http://www.iawriter.com/mac/ which is completely cross-country, so to speak, Mac, iPad, iPhone, syncs through iCloud or Dropbox. It works with Markdown, and there seems to be a macro in Nisus which tr...

Re: Look up words in “Dictionary.app”
I I don't remember if you have to set that up specifically in the appropriate system preferences. Mark I suppose one should twiddle something or other for your method to work, for I tried it, and the result was that I went from highlighted word to highlighted sentence, as is usual with the Mac. The...

Re: Look up words in “Dictionary.app”
Elementary, my dear Hamid! Elementary! Thank you very much. I was looking for an accidental combination of commands (and I am pretty sure I could not have produced accidentally “command-control-d”), but what I did do accidentally was clicking a word with the right side of the mouse. I tried, and the...

Look up words in “Dictionary.app”
I have made of the Dictionary.app a custom dictionary which is, I must say, very useful. It now contains the Oxford dictionary and Thesaurus, Wikipedia, New Oxford American Dictionary and Writer's Thesaurus, Apple dictionary, Dictionnaire de l'Académie française and Littré, an Italian dictionary, a ...

Re: Nisus compatibility with osx 10.8?
I am totally confused here: the messages on Nisus Interactive, on the Nisus Dartmouth List and here are contradictory. I do not doubt Nisus 2.0.3 and 4 work with OS 8, but what about US, who are still on 10.7.x? I couldn't use 2.0.3 until now, and I have to wait for my French Dictionary to go on 10....
