Re: creating Macros
In NWClassic I have got a Shortcut assigned to the Macro "Transpose the Two" //==================== MACRO Transpose the Two // Assuming two things are non-contiguously selected, this will transpose them, putting each in the place of the other [Deleted] because I very often change the posi...

Re: numbered lists? outlining?
I need a good word processor that includes numbered and bulleted lists, outlining, etc. So far as I can tell, Nisus does not yet support this. Is this true? If so, how soon will Nisus provide these capabilities? If you don't want to wait for 2.5 you can add this functionality to the current -- 2.1....

Re: creating Macros
How difficult is it to write a script or macro I would like to have a script that transposes words so you would have tired dog and the macro would make it dog tired thanks Here's a NWX Perl script that transposes selected words as requested: #Nisus Macro Block #source clipboard #destination clipboa...

Re: Where's the documentation
This all begs the question: Where's the documentation? If programmability is one of NWE's big selling points, then why doesn't Nisus publish some really good documentation? It's not logical, Captain. (I'm not talking about a macro tip here and a macro example there. I'm talking a real top to bottom...

Re: Missing an integrated macro language
One of my disappointments with Nisus Writer Express is that is doesn't have it's own macro language. Nor is there much documentation about how to use perl with Nisus (sheesh! I have to learn yet another programming language?! -- I just want to get some writing chores done!). I've only come over to ...

Autosave
I find it hard to see how anyone can equate the prospect of new users (the ones, like me, most likely to get scared and bolt) suffer the loss of irreplaceable data with the tiny inconvenience of one time only having to go to a Preferences window and checking AutoSave, once you know what it is and e...

Autosave Issues
Hi: Two things I want to say: 1. This is how autosave works on most word processors. (That does not mean it is best, it just is.) However, we will make some changes to autosave to deal with the situation you are describing. For starters, autosave will no longer trigger if you have not modified the ...

Save As Dialog Box
You can enlarge or shrink the "save as..." box like any other window -- drag the bottom right corner. It seems to remember the new larger size too, even across application restarts which is handy.

Plain Text Files
Yes that's interesting, Nisus allows you to select the file in the open file dialog but nothing happens when you try to open it. TextEdit opens it fine when you select it. With TextWrangler and Tex-Edit Plus you can only select it if you use the enable "All Files" option, but it then opens...

Looks good so far. Foreign sourced files save okay in NWX, existing NWX files too.

I can repro the problem with non-NWX documents but I'm having no problems saving documents originally created using NWX (both pre-2.1.2 and new ones created using 2.1.2) so far anyway... You can easily restore the old version - from the backup you took prior to upgrading to 10.4 (You did take backup...

Is it possible to send us one of these files you are experiencing trouble with? Just choose "Report a Bug..." in the "Help" menu and pick the file at the bottom of the report form. This will help us narrow down your issue much faster. Thanks! -Charles I've sent you an easy repro...

Re: Have Tiger, Need Nisus
Sorry guys, but 29/4 was yesterday already here in Australia. I got my copy of 10.4 nearly 22 hrs ago (12:05PM Sydney time) now...dave wrote: Express 2.1.2 will be out very shortly. Tiger has not been officially released yet (it is 4:20 PM on the West Coast of the USA) so we still have time.

Have Tiger, Need Nisus
Well Tiger is out, I've received my copy and am impatiently waiting for Nisus to release the promised 2.1.2 compatibility version. The one that was supposed to be available "before" Tiger was released. Failing this can we at least have a list of the issues/problems users are likely to enco...

Re: Page Numbering
Obviously, from the tenor of the posts this should be dead easy - so easy, in fact, that it wasn’t necessary to include a reference to it in the “Manual”. However, with the various amendments to the original reply and other comments that followed I have got into a tangle. I am using v. 2.1.1. I hav...
