Unfortunately I don't have the answers to your question. I am a new user to Nisus Writer Express. Don't know how it is different from Pro.
I just copied the code from an existing macro in Express and wanted to see if it would work with bold and italic markup of Markdown.

Thank you for the help. I was not editing the template file. I was editing a particular text file and was surprised that the settings were not sticky over restarts. My bad. Your suggestions solved that problem for me. I edited the Plain Text Template and now it behaves exactly how I set it up. Thank...

I am trying to setup a writing environment. I have typewriter scrolling on. I have turned off the ruler, the toolbar, and palettes. I have check spelling as you type turned on. I have paragraph focus mode turned on. I edit plain text files in Nisus Writer Express. Why do the changes I made not stick...
