Re: Terrific Mountain Lion feature
Thanks so much, Martin. I've been using 2.1 for four or five days now; it's impressive. By the way, the list of changes—both enhancements and bug fixes—is downright amazing. Great job.

Re: Em spaces, en spaces, etc.
Great information and cite; thanks very much. I wasn't aware of the use of the spaces in CSS/HTML coding. And I hadn't come across them in contemporary desktop publishing. Come to think of it, though, way, way back in the day, those thin spaces were used to help justify lines in Linotype machines. I...

Re: Em spaces, en spaces, etc.
Idle curiosity: I'm familiar with most of the typesetting vocabulary, but this is the first time I've come across "em spaces" and "en spaces" as opposed to the more common em-dash and n-dash. What are the spaces used for?

This is great!
My guess is that, in addition to the gut, David returned to Italy with prescriptions for lower-your-blood-pressure pills and lower-your-cholesterol pills.

Apple and RTF
It may be of interest to know that in the new Mavericks version of the Pages app, Apple dropped its support for rtf. I occasionally used the earlier version of Pages to open .doc and .docx files that NWP had trouble with, then exported them as rtf for Nisus. No more. The new version won't open rtf f...

Thanks so much for your trouble. I assigned the macro a keystroke, and it all works perfectly.

Terrific Mountain Lion feature
A super cool feature of Mountain Lion is the ability to rename a file and to move it to a new location while file is open in an application. In TextEdit, for example, you go to the file menu, choose Rename..., and the file name in the title bar is ready to rename. Same thing for Move To... Choose it...

Re: gray tint
Thanks so much. Worked perfectly. I thought I knew Nisus well, but that part of the appearance preference is an entirely new area for me.

gray tint
Is there a way to eliminate the gray tint block that appears with list and outline numbers, letters and their indents? It's distracting: I tend to stare at the gray stuff instead of what I'm working on.

Re: Writing a book
For my first book, a 140,000-word biography that will be published this fall, I wrote the rough draft in Scrivener. It uses index cards on a cork board for chapter titles and an outline of what the chapter contains. It's easy to rearrange the cards and to switch from the index card view to the writi...

Re: Seeing all footnotes at once: possible?
The easiest way I've found is to look at them all as endnotes, then switch back to footnotes. To do that, look at the bottom of the Nisus page: foot-end notes.png Click the green tab and it automatically changes footnotes to endnotes. When you're finished, click again and it changes back to footnote...

Re: Autosave & versions
In my own non-Nisus work, I've gotten used to the Lion approach and think it's much more effective than the old save and save-as (in Numbers, for example, it didn't take long to forget about constantly pressing cmd-s, although I still occasionally fall back on cmd-shift-s for save as). It's far bett...

Thanks. I hadn't noticed the review changes panel; it looks useful.

track changes display
Is there a way to switch the track changes display from the balloon to an in-text system: double-underlined insertions and strike-through deletions? Right now, this is mostly curiosity on my part. The copy editor who handled the manuscript for my book (I had sent him a Nisus Writer Pro 2.02 rtf file...

I'm not a lawyer, but this topic was addressed earlier; it included a template, linenumbers.zrtf, that seems to be what you need.
