In my experience NWE can't handle longer documents (more than 50 pages) and/or a lot of footnotes (more than say 50). On my computer those documents keep crashing all the time. Sending them to Nisus has not helped at all. For now, I had to go back to Word since unfortunately NWE is virtually useless...

NWE 2.7. seems to handle footnotes even slower than previous versions. I work on documents with a lot of footnotes (500 ad more) and it takes forever (minutes) to open a document, crashes are frequent when I work in the footnote section. beta 10 keeps crashing when working on a longer document (250 pages, 500 footnotes), especially in the footnotes section.

beta 8 works much better. I can copy citations from the Bookends menu clicking on "copy citations formatted" and it automatically inserts the reference into the document. However, Bookends tends to crash quite a bit now.

I can't get Bookends to copy citations into footnotes. I checked all settings etc., downloaded the latest version of Bookends. Still doesn't work.

can you assign keyboard shortcuts to characters from the special characters palette? This would be really helpful.

I work with NWE 2.6 and I noticed that opening a longer (200 pages, 250 footnotes) document can take 5 minutes or more! Any idea why this is taking so long? The documents are in rtf format and were originally created with WORD but I saved them as a copy in NWE. I am grateful for any suggestions, Bet...

I am using NWE 2.6 When opening WORD documents the formatting and styles of footnotes are lost. What am I doing wrong? Or is this normal?
Any suggestions how to avoid this problem would be much appreciated.
