ultramookie has some nice things to say about how responsive we have been trying to follow up with people who are having trouble with NWE.

We got into some trouble with 1.0 because it was underpowered anyway and our older users were pretty upset at us and posted anywhere they could to complain. It hurt our reputation and our sales tremendously.

This release we are working really hard to stay on top of issues that people raise about NWE. We finally have enough features that we feel like we can stand on this product as a good word processing solution for many users and we want to make sure that those who are having problems know that we really care about them. (Because we do!)

Thanks especially to Dave and Mark who have really worked hard to follow up with everyone who contacts us, good or bad. (And there have been a LOT of people!)

I am very impressed with what you have produced for NWE 2. I had been using NW 6.5 from 1999 until this June when I moved to OS X 10.3. While I had Office 2004, there were still some problems. Mellel and NWE seemed to be racing to get to the next level. I have purchased both and use both. With NWE 2 I am leaning strongly toward NWE. It has all the makings of everything I need in a word processor. Yes, a few features from NW 6.5 would be nice, but I wouldn’t want to go backward.

Thanks to everyone at Nisus for a great product and timely responses. You have done a superb job. I feel for you because of the grief you have received concerning everyone else’s idea about what you “should” be doing. You saw the goal and moved forward. Well done.

Your attitude towards the unimportance of right to left support, your arrogant neglect of your multilingual users is what led to the backlash. You went from being one of the best applications to one of the worst. Even now, nearly after 4 years of the release of OS X, Nisus still has not achieved what you had under Classic. As one of your users since 1994, I am glad that our sentiments have affected your company. Until I see a compelling product that meets my needs, I will continue to support other developers. Hurry up and support right to left languages!
