Embed fonts in .rtf file made by NWP?

Post by NisusUser »

Apparently it's not possible to embed fonts in NWP files. A web search makes me think embedding fonts is within RTF capabilities. If it's true the NWP can't do this, could this be added to the feature request list? Thanks!

That is correct, NWP cannot embed fonts in RTF files. It's true that the RTF file format specification allows for embedding fonts, but offhand I'm not sure how widely supported it might be, nor what legal implications might impact such a feature. But I will file it as a feature request, thank you.

Thanks, Martin. Re: legal implications for using fonts ,according to what I found on the web, MS Word, which does support embedding of fonts, does not embed those fonts that do not allow free distribution.

You can export a document’s fonts using Font Book’s services. Open your document, select all, then right-click and select Services>Create Collection from Text. Font Book will open and create a new collection with your document’s fonts.

Best, Henry.
