Well, since this ancient thread has been revived… I'll put my hand up too and say it'd be great to see change tracking in NWP.
That's one feature that for now will ensure I continue to have Word installed and in use for all my writing (which has to be edited, and my editor is on Windows, with Word).
I presently use Word 2011 and it's relatively nice. I prefer it to the Windows versions. Although most cocoa apps look nice compared to Windows stuff.

I totally agree about track changes. I have already switched my lab to Nisus, but having a robust track changes would provide a foundation for taking over the rest of the department with Nisus!

Yeah, I was quite surprised that Word 2011 actually works, since the previous versions were really, really awful. I always use Nisus for Writing, but when I get documents from other people I'd normally use Word; however, I've noticed that Nisus is more compatible with those horrible .doc(x) documents.InspiredWriter wrote:Well, since this ancient thread has been revived… I'll put my hand up too and say it'd be great to see change tracking in NWP.

Re: What to do about Word's track changes feature?
If I've used NWP to open a file that was saved in MS Word with "track changes" activated, it shows with redline through the deleted text, as previous postings have noted. Is there a quick way to hide these changes (i.e. to accept them all, and display only the unmarked, fresh, revised text)?

There's no way to hide them, but you could easily delete them all:
1. Select any piece of text that has been marked as deleted (has that red/strikethrough character style applied).
2. Use the menu Format > Character Style > Select All Style.
3. Press the Delete key.
Hope that helps.

Yes indeed, in case anyone still doesn't know: version 2 is out now and includes track changes.
