Keyboard shortcut for Macros: problem

I want to assign a keyboard shortcut (let's say CTRL-B) for a Macro (let's say one which puts <b> before the selected text and </b> after it).

Making the Macro is no problem. But trying to assign the keyboard shortcut via Menu Keys doesn't work. Though it shows up on the drop down menu, applying the keyboard press has only the effect of unselecting the text.

The macro itself works OK, but only via the Macro dropdown, which is too slow to be useful.

Any ideas?

And how can I get rid of the Macros I don't want? They always reappear on the Macros menu even if I try to move them somewhere else!

And why can't I search and replace over all open documents like I could on the free old version of Nisus I used on my OS9 Mac?

And how can I stop spurious spaces being inserted whenever I try to cut and paste text involving angled brackets?

I beg to differ, but you can assign keyboard shortcuts to macros in the macros menu. I have over a dozen that I done that way. If you do it , the keyboard shortcut appears in the macro menu. If you are in Preferences, and you go to Menu Keys, then pick the Macro menu out you should be able to assign keys that work from there. Tell me where your process is not working. Cheers!
