here is a really wierd thing. if I am in beta 10 and I create a Nisus New File.dot it opens very different in 2.6.1

short cut menu keys are gone
font is different

however, if you make adjustments/changes to Nisus New File.dot in 2.6.1 it doesn't seem to bother 2.7b10 (as far as short cuts and font)

beta 10 keeps crashing when working on a longer document (250 pages, 500 footnotes), especially in the footnotes section.

Beta 11 is now available and should fix a few things reported here:

- Keyboard shortcuts work properly (eg: Copy/Paste)
- Normal style is not lost in Nisus New File.
- A few fixes for footnotes.

Just visit the usual page for a complete list of fixes and a download link. We're getting close now.

and I want NWE to blog

Word 2007 to Feature Built-in Blogging

Microsoft The Internet
Vitaly Friedman writes "Microsoft has revealed a surprising new feature for Word 2007: built-in blog publishing. The big surprise is this: the HTML that is generated is actually not that bad. 'Joe Friend, a lead program manager (Microsoft's term for a person who creates the specifications for software that programmers implement) has posted an entry on his blog regarding an interesting new feature being implemented for Word 2007: direct publishing of blogs to the web from within the program.'"

Based on the FC, it looks like version 2.7 is going to be the best Nisus Writer Express yet, congratulations! Great job, and I really appreciate your quick response to user suggestions. Can I make another suggestion: I like the new Dock commands, but when I select "New Document" from the Dock, NWX opens the new document in the background if it is not the currently active application. It would seem more logical to me to have NWX become the active application at that point, in the same way that Mail becomes active when I select "Compose New Message" from the Dock menu.

One for Martin and the Nisus team.

A request regarding the new 'full screen' view. I have my dock positioned on the right hand side of the screen. If I use full screen view, the vertical scroll bar hides behind the dock. Scrolling seems to work OK but the view is messy.

Is it possible to have full screen mode respect the position of the dock - certainly if it is on either the right or left hand side of the screen?

cheers,

Tacitus

Odd.

Type three periods and Nisus correctly replaces them with an ellipsis. Now, type a word or a letter and you need to type five periods to get an ellipsis and... two periods.

Example:
… … word.….

(Note: select the symbols above to see what they are.) In case someone doesn't understand, the above line contains the following:

ellipsis [space] ellipsis [space] "word" period ellipsis period

I typed:
three periods in a row, space, three periods in a row, space, w, o, r, d, five periods in a row

Go figure...

Strange, I have no problems whatsoever, 10.4.6.

No problems here, either.

Also, this release has fixed the problems I had opening some files.

I've checked and double checked. I definitely have this problem. Can't select a style, can't extend the size of the palette either.

PowerBook G4, OS X 10.4.6, FC2.

swilcox, and any others that have this problem:

1. Does the Styles palette properly show you the styles that are in the document. eg: are all the styles listed?
2. Does the Styles palette show that a style is applied to your text. Eg: in a new document, is the "Normal" style highlighted?

I'd like to see if this is a problem with your preferences file:

1. Quit Express if it is running.
2. Find your preferences file in your home directory at ~/Library/Preferences/com.nisus.NisusWriter.plist
3. Please send a copy of the file to expressfeedback@nisus.com.
4. Delete the file (or move it somewhere else, in case you want to restore it later).
5. Launch Express.
