Upgrade Academic or just get new license?

Post by codewizard »

I am an academic user. If I upgrade it's $49. If I get a new license it's $39.

Huh? Is this correct? If I do upgrade, does it then become a "full" license?

Yes, that's my problem too. Can owners of an academic license purchase a new academic license for 2.0, or do they have to pay the 'normal' upgrade fee? What's exactly Nisus' policy here?

The information on the academic purchases page says that academic licenses are not eligible for upgrade pricing. Following that logic, if you already have an academic license you should purchase an entirely new academic license instead of upgrading. That is, of course, if they enforce the policy. Still, it is not a bad thing in this case since it saves you $10. That is what I did, and I had no problems.

Yes, feel free to upgrade an existing academic license (even though there is no discount pricing) or to purchase an entirely new v2 academic license. Either way you'll receive a full NWP v2 license key. And yes, buying a new academic license is cheaper, so I'd recommend that over upgrading.
