created a new heading. Can't figure out how to assign keyboard shortcut

Post by ronald »

I can't find heading shortcuts in the pref→ menu keys, and I can't find a way to assign a shortcut in the heading's context menu.
thank you very much

The styles shown in the Menu Keys preferences will depend on the active (frontmost) document. You should open the document with your newly created styles, and then switch to the Menu Keys preferences.

Alternatively you can assign keyboard shortcuts in the Style View:

1. Switch to your stylesheet, eg: use the menu View > Style Sheet.
2. From the list of styles on the left, select the style whose keyboard shortcut you want to assign.
3. From the settings on the right, click into the "Shortcut" field to activate it.
4. Press the desired keyboard shortcut on your keyboard, eg: Command + T.
→ You'll see the captured shortcut display immediately. No other changes are necessary (unless you're alerted that there's a conflict).

I hope that helps!

NWP→ Pref→ new file → edit, then NWP → menu keys : where are the heading shortcuts listed ?

G’day, ronald et al

Should be under Menu Keys > Format > Paragraph Style.

1. Open any document that includes the relevant styles so its document window is active.
2. Open your Nisus Writer Preferences.
3. Switch to the "Menu Keys" preference pane.
4. From the list of all menus, select the desired menu, eg: Format > Paragraph Style > Heading 1
5. From the menu settings shown on the right, enter the new keyboard shortcut.
6. Click the "Set" button.
