Re: Another paragraph style question...
Mark, Some additional clarification, since I brought the subject up. I'm not in the least bothered by "Normal". In fact, I used it in one of my templates by modifying it and basing other styles on it. It's indeed very convenient. The reason for my question was: I wasn't sure if, by removin...

Re: Another paragraph style question...
Mark - Usually I set up my templates in quite the same way. I start with one paragraph style and one character style and base all the other styles on them. Usually, I take the existing styles and re-define them. Somehow "Normal" must have slipped by my attention. As for "Header" ...

Re: Another paragraph style question...
Thanks, phspaelti, for the answer. I've checked "Normal" and it's not based on anything else and the "Next style" is also "Normal". And, yes, I do delete it, mercilessly, while deleting all styles I don't use in the document. At least I'm sure now that it's not my doing...

Another paragraph style question...
Since Hamid, xiamenese, and phspaelti pointed me to the right direction regarding re-formatting, I've been re-formatting happily. Now I've got another question. Sometimes in the files to be re-formatted there appears one style called "Normal". (I don't know if I invented this designation s...

Re: Question re. paragraph and character styles
@ Hamid and xiamenese: Many thanks for your suggestions! I've had just one opportunity to put it to a test, and it worked! When reading Hamid's solution I was going to ask if it wouldn't work as suggested by xiamenese. But essentially it's the same principle. I think I'll do it after the import sinc...

Question re. paragraph and character styles
I'm currently preparing a novel for publication. For that, I have to reformat the entire novel, i.e., no less than 50 chapters, in order to meet the publisher's specs. To that purpose, I've created another template, template#2 (whereas the chapters of the original version are based on template#1). I...

Re: Problems with Arabic
Gruß ninjagame (If your (system) DVD is ...

Re: Problems with Arabic
Orientalist, downgrading to OS 10.6.6 indeed doesn't work that way. Here's what I did: 1. Re-install OS 10.6.x from the OS 10.6.x disc. 2. Download the 10.6.6 combo update, and run it. 3. Open "System Preferences" then "Software Update". Having done so, click "details" ...

Right. That would be my guess, too: An example of post hoc ergo propter hoc.Groucho wrote:But I think this is a bug related to the OS, not to the fonts. Even more so if you get things straight when you downgrade to 10.6.6.
Let's wait and see, then.

Mine is a PostScript Type 1, too, except that it's from 1987, not 1997. Maybe that's the point.

Re: Font problem after updating to OS 10.6.7
Henry - As I wrote: The problem did not occur when I created a PDF through the "Save as PDF" print dialog. The PDF was just fine. Neither did it occur when I printed the document (or the PDF created from the document, for that matter). It occured only with the screen display. The dots simp...

Re: Font problem after updating to OS 10.6.7
Thanks, greenmorpher, for the link which was very interesting! The problem I was experiencing, however, was quite the opposite. It didn't affect PDF at all. It was extremely specific: It affected only the dots in punctuation marks (periods, semicolons, the dots - and only the dots - in exclamation m...

Re: Font problem after updating to OS 10.6.7
Thanks, Hamid and Kino, for your replies! After some research on several discussion boards, I've resorted to re-installing OS 10.6 and running the 10.6.6 combo update again. With that, the problem disappeared. Let's hope for the next version of 10.6.x to fix the problem, or, ultimately, for 10.7. ni...

Font problem after updating to OS 10.6.7
Hi all, Since updating to OS 10.6.7, I'm experiencing a very specific font problem which is definitely not related to NWP exclusively, but maybe someone has a solution anyway. The problem is as follows: Since I've updated to OS 10.6.7, in documents using the font "Futura Light" the dots in...

Re: How do you transfer your Nisus program to a new computer?
Hi Elizabteh,
Actually, it's very easy: Just download the program from the Nisus site, launch it, input your license - done.
Kind regards
