Re: Permissions extensions problem

What happens when you try to save a document? Do you get some sort of error message, if so what does it say?

Did this used to work and now suddenly it has stopped working, or is this a new install of NWP that's never worked?

What version of NWP is it and what version of OS X are you using?

Re: Problem saving pdf file

What is this "pdfx1a 2001" option you speak of? I've never seen it in any Print>PDF dialog in any app, certainly not NWP. What version of NWP and OS X are you using? Do you have some other software/extension that includes support for this pdf format installed?

Re: A ruler for Geoff

1. It requires OS X 10.7 or later. Geoff ain't movin' off 10.6.x this side of the heat death of the universe. 2. It's sold in the Mac App Store, which as everyone knows is the spawn of the devil. It will rot your soul, kill indie software development and have us living like savages any day now. 3. G...

Re: Working With Nisus and Pages

The new Pages works with Nisus Writer Pro, but to transfer documents from NWP to Pages you have to use NWP's File>Export As... [.doc or .docx] format command. Don't use NWP's Save As... "Microsoft Word Format" menu command. Nisus works rather oddly in this area - File>Save As...>"Micr...

Re: Nisus Pro and the Mac App store

But you continue to ignore reality, we're talking about Nisus here - who already have their own sales website. And you're still short-sightedly insisting that ease of use for you is paramount. You're selfishly recommending people take revenue from Nisus and give it to Apple. But why, don't you want...

Re: Nisus Pro and the Mac App store

Personally I suspect that if you buy Nisus Writer Pro from the App Store and leave a positive review then you are doing Nisus more good than buying it direct from them. There's indeed value in positive reviews, but drshan did not mention leaving positive reiews - that was reh-im-mond. Drshan was ju...

Re: iCloud Sync and Versioning

As I understand it unfortunately only apps obtained from the Mac App Store can use iCloud, so if it was implemented in NWP then only those who bought it from the App Store would be able to use it. It would introduce a fairly major feature difference between the app store version of NWP and the non-a...

Re: Nisus crashes under Mavericks

Expose, Spaces, Stacks, Tabbed windows display, scrolling the wrong way … some of it is names in the System Prefs I having nothing to do with and some of it is in some kind of mythical land I haven't traversed and, hopefully, won’t. As someone on another forum remarked the other day, OS 7.6 was GRE...

Re: Nisus crashes under Mavericks

Two or three users have reported Mavericks crashing problems on the Sandvox forum too (he reported smugly, sitting as he is, somewhat fat and very happy on X.6.8!!!). Cheers, geoff Geoff, you could be like me, sitting happily on 10.9 with nary a crash or bug or problem to speak of with Mavericks. O...

Re: Request for Nisus to issue more frequent NWP bug-fixes

I'd be happier if Nisus issued bug-fix versions with far less issues, say a hundred or so at a time. This would mean updates two or three times a year, about the same frequency as OSX updates, which I think Apple has about right. Apple usually issue 4-5 updates to OS X a year -- today 10.8.5 was re...

Re: Request for Nisus to issue more frequent NWP bug-fixes

Yes, this has bugged me for some time too... (sorry about that!) I can't see why Nisus don't issue minor point release bug-fix-only releases 3 or 4 times a year, with feature enhancements once a year or so. Having to wait a year or more for bug fixes bundled with feature enhancements like the new ma...

Re: NW for iPad?

I'm currently using Textilus on the iPad. It both reads and writes rtf! Has iCloud and Dropbox syncing and it's the most complete wordprocessor I've yet seen on the iPad. No footnotes or multi-columns alas, but basic stylesheets, fonts and several other real wordprocessory things (e.g. indents) thos...

Re: Nisus Writer Pro does NOT scroll?

Welcome to the 21st century. This is nothing to do with Nisus, it's how OS X works by default with any Cocoa app nowadays (post 10.6 anyway). Scrollbars are not "always on" by default, they only appear while you are scrolling a document (like iOS), or if the mouse pointer is located nearby...
