Re: Comparing Nisus Classic to Nisus Writer Pro
Here's are a few features that I remember Nisus Classic having that I (sometimes) miss. Multiple character styles applied to the same text Automatic numbers that could be anywhere in the text, not tied to a list style Transparent/hidden text Automatic macros, that would run on certain actions "...

Re: hiding specific numbers
I'm trying to think what you mean by "specific" numbers. I can think of two things. 1. If you want to hide page numbers (in the header/footer) on blank pages, you would probably have to make those pages a separate section. Then you can either have a different header/footer on those pages, ...

Re: Find and replace using attributes works, but macro doesn't
I can confirm—as has Adrian already—that apparently the "No Subscript" style does not seem to be operative in a macroized statement.
Of course these commands, where the applied style in the macro code is critical, are extremely delicate.

Re: Way to sort a list?
As long as the items in your list are all single paragraphs you can just use the Sort command.

Re: Page number stops between sections
Check your section settings (in the palette). Most likely your later section is set to have "Different Footers". Either uncheck this, to give both sections the same footer, or add the page number to the footer of the later section.

Re: Encourage Later Line Break
Hello Adrian, I'm glad it works for you. One relates to argument syntax. When does one enclose an argument in parentheses and when does one separate it from the command by a space? Probably a smart way to think about it would be that you always need parentheses. So any command should always be follo...

Re: Encourage Later Line Break
Hello Adrian, If I understand correctly you are trying to do the opposite of what you (we) were doing last time, i.e., successively tighten until a word from the following line pops up. The simplest idea to my mind is to simply check what the bound of the current line is until it changes. Like this:...

Re: Can we add some Indexing features?
Moving on, can we add a way to manually order index entries, rather than alphabetically? Here I am thinking about my 2 level index of "cases" and "statutes" and "rules." Rules comes before statutes alphabetically, but I would sometimes like to put my index in the order...

Re: Can we add some Indexing features?
Is it possible to add an option to use the word "Passim" to the indexing options? This is frequently used in legal table of authorities if a citation is on multiple pages; usually at least 4 times. Passim, of course, would replace the page number in the index one would use for a table of ...

Re: Select and put in array.
I just want to add one more thing here, which is tangential to the above discussion. If you use the Find All style method to make a selection, NWP will find the relevant paragraphs, but the returned subtexts will all contain the final newline for each paragraph. If you want to get rid of these, then...

Re: Select and put in array.
Hello Lou, Non-contiguous selections in NWP are already in an array. For example if you have used a find command to make such a selection then $array = $doc.textSelections will return an array. However the array will be one containing selection objects. This is usually good enough, and can even be a...

Re: Watermark settings won't stick: v. 3.3
I tried a very quick test, and what I find is this: I apply the watermark to a section only and NWP correctly reflects this. I.e., it shows the watermark only in that section. BUT if you open the settings it shows the watermark as "Entire Document". This doesn't seem to affect the way the ...

Re: Extend Line to Right Line Indent
Instead of using kerning, how about a different kludge; add a dummy phrase at the end of the line and color it white. Of course this kludge depends on. you having the extra space for the line with the dummy.
