Re: Error in "Justify fully Arabic"

Hello ameddo, It seems that Nisus has forgotten to update their macro for the current menu arrangement of NWP. Line 17 looks like this: Menu 'Paragraph Alignment:Justify' # in case the user forgot It should look like this Menu 'Paragraph:Align Justified' # in case the user forgot However, since I do...

Re: Urgetn questions

Disfasia, I think there is a bit of confusion on your part. I suspect that you have never used "Nisus Writer Pro". There are three products: Nisus Writer (now called "Nisus Writer Classic"): This is what you would have been using 15 years ago. Nisus Writer Express: This is the &q...

Re: Not so "read only"

Oh, and here is a smarter macro to do this kind of thing. Even though the width/height are linked, changing the width in this manner does not change the linked height, so it is necessary to do it by hand. $wid = 200 Select Document Start while Select Next Image $img = Image.selectedImage $ratio = $w...

Not so "read only"

According to the Macro Reference the properties of the Image Object are all "read only". In defiance of this advice I wrote the following macro: Select Document Start while Select Next Image $img = Image.selectedImage $img.width = 200 end Nothing seemed to happen, but when I checked the me...

Re: Box shape "moves" when pasted to another page

After some more testing I am now convinced that this is a bug. It seems to be related to NWP's "normal" paste behavior. If one selects a single graphic element, and then pastes it, the item is pasted shifted down and right by 10 pts each. Apparently this behavior "survives" even ...

Re: Box shape "moves" when pasted to another page

I just tried recreating something like what you have, and in my test I can confirm the problem. As I tried repeatedly pasting the "same" page, I got alternate placement of the floating box, once at the margin, once ten points over the margin, back and forth. This looks like a bug to me, bu...

APA = American Psychological Association
But the true import for most people is their style guide. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APA_style.

Re: Box shape "moves" when pasted to another page

I am just wondering something. Do I understand correctly that the two pictures are taken from the same file? Why does it look like the right margin is different? (I am judging by the visible "white" space.) Judging by this "margin" the frame's space is about the same from the rig...

The menu is on the right end of the ruler.

You can also double-click on a tab in the ruler to change the settings of the tab.

I believe the ability to insert a tab in a "tab-context" using <option>-tab is a mac wide standard.

Re: formatting page numbers in NWP 1.4.2

You need to set your document/section to using "Facing Pages". This can be set in the section palette. You will then have independant odd/even headers and footers. The parts that you want to be the same will have to be copied.

Recover and Show

I frequently get the "Recover and Show" dialog. I assume this is because I use the an iDisk and my Nisus preferences get synced across computers, and I have autosave turned on. So apparently when I start up Nisus and it can't find the temporary files created on the other machine (which I p...

Re: Can you move tables "free form" instead of rigit alignme

Your best bet seems to be to scroll the table so it is right below the ruler.

But I would like to add my voice to those who would like to see interfaces for these things that can be controlled numerically. Not just the placement, but how about column width and row heights too.

Re: Legal Pleading Paper Help

Presumably you could just make it yourself. Make it as an empty file in Nisus using the regular line numbers feature. Then save as pdf and use that.
I'm upoading my own version of such a (rtf) file here.

Re: Copy U.S. English QuickFix list to other language?

Actually what Quickfix really needs is a "All Languages" option. Binding symbols to a language option is not ideal.
