Re: Change the arrangement of styles in the "Styles" palette

You raise an interesting point, but no, there is no way to change the order at this time, other than naming the styles with characters that force them to alphabetize differently.

Re: Deceitful Sales Messages-

I'm sorry that FoxofJapan is disappointed in us. The line in the newsletter he quotes is followed two lines later with this (emphasis mine): This Festivus sale will last for 1 day: December 23rd from 12:00 AM PST to 11:59 PM PST . That's Pacific Standard Time (a few hours later than Eastern time as ...

Re: Download to windows, transfer to Mac?

xjy, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that your "Title" does not say it all. Download what to windows (and here I think you mean "Windows"), and then transfer what, the same thing (is this an application or a document?) to Mac, in order to do what? Do you have a method for "transfe...

Re: Document Manager

Hello Peter, The Document Manager in Nisus Writer Pro is a completely different feature from the Catalog of Nisus Writer Classic. As you have learned, there are a number of things you could do with the Catalog that you cannot do with the Document Manager. You will yet learn that there are other thin...

Re: pre formatting a document

Hello running nut, I'm not 100% clear on what you want to accomplish, but I think you want to set up a template document for your dissertation. Congratulations on being ABD. You report that you have a 28 page document already. I suggest that you format that document as you want it, creating all the ...

Re: Templates

Jason, Nisus Writer Pro and Nisus Writer Express can open any Microsoft Word "template" file (a file with the extension .dot). Where do you get them? We don't have enough staff on hand to create these templates for all the possible users. However… The Avery Labels people have a number of s...

Re: hidden headers and footers as a style

jeffisme, I'm sorry you experience difficulties with Nisus Writer Pro. To accomplish what you want you need to create a template file that has the headers and/or footers hidden. Open a new file, set everything the way you want (that is turn on – check – Hidden Footers and Hidden Headers in the Heade...

Re: footnotes and blank space

Hello docrates2, I'm sorry you experience difficulties with Nisus Writer Pro. 1) Yes footnotes do (or if you set it that way "can") wrap from one page to the next. This is controlled in the Style Sheet view of Nisus Writer Pro. In the "navigation pane" on the left of the document...

Re: Can you switch authors for comments?

There is actually a way to alternate comment authors. It's not super convenient, but it's not too difficult either: 1. Add all the comments you want using your current author name. 2. Close the document. 3. In the NWP General preferences, change your author name. 4. Reopen the document. 5. Any new c...

Re: Can you switch authors for comments?

Does this happen automatically when a Nisus document is opened on another computer? The short answer is "yes". However, there is a way you can do this while keeping the file on the same computer, but, the process it is a bit complex. You can actually see it illustrated in the User's Guide...

Re: converting automatic content

Bart, I'm glad that works for you. Is there a way to make those number superscript? If you have a style in your document (before you run the macro) called " Note Reference " you can modify that style in the Style Sheet view of Nisus Writer Pro so that it includes the Superscript attribute....
