Re: Saving documents
I will check the OS version and the Preferences on the Office computer when I am there next.. I think it is 10.7.5. (Lion) it is a 2006 20 iMac . I do have a copy of Pro 2 that I can reinstall if necessary. All else other than the 'Saving' is very good, very happy. I may have to find an easy work ar...

Re: Saving documents
Yep, I just lost a saved document (several in fact). New file, "saved as xxx" to desktop, I could see the file. Closed document had four choices but as I has saved it I deleted the copy, the file was deleted from the desk top!! Tried again but chose "quick saved", the file remain...

iCloud lost
I have not been able to find my Nisus Folder in iCloud.
Not sure how this aspect works or what I have to do the create a connection.
I was under the impression that this was a feature in 2.1
Nevertheless i love Nisus.

Re: Nisus Writer Pro File blow out
Yes, saving the file as a .zrtf reduced the size to 1/5 of the original. Save As .pdf increased the file only marginally
Thank you.
Thank you.

Nisus Writer Pro File blow out
I have a problem with graphics. If I paste a 34kb .svg graphic into a new Nisus Writer Pro (up to date) file the file size blows out to 1.5MB on disc If I paste the same graphic as .jpg 140kb the file size still blows out to 1.5MB The graphic is 1/4 of an A4 page. If I reduce it in Nisus to 1/8 page...

Re: Newsletter with Nisus
yes well the Newsletter worked very well, very fast and very clean. There is still much to learn about the programs capabilities. I have used Nisus since the original version, but had forgotten much and had not kept up to date with it.
Just thought I would add a postscript.

Newsletter with Nisus
Well it has not been easy. New pages is a worry so I set myself the task of creating our A5 booklet newsletter with Nisus. Well I have done it. It has taken me three weeks to do it. A very steep learning curve. Using a 'Canvas' to create the masthead, text box for the feature, 2 columns for the body...

Re: Working With Nisus and Pages
I had thought of converting to Word as the go between, but I did not realized that exporting the file would make it accessible to the new pages, even so without facing pages is pretty useless.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: What is Nisus doing when it is "typesetting text"?
Just my thoughts The original Nisus was a text editor and blindingly fast, this may be the foundation of the current one. That suggests the document is stored as text, when we open page view Nisus applies the formatting to the raw text. Depending on the size of the document and the complexity of the...

Re: Pagination for Saddle-Stitched Booklet
https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/21068/create-booklet I downloaded this and it seems to work okay in creating an A5 booklet printed on A4 paper. Margins may have to be adjusted on the source document. The old Nisus1 (pre system OS10) had this option. This is what originally attracted me to Nisus. W...

Re: Pagination for Saddle-Stitched Booklet
Cheapimpostor works very well for me. I use it several times a week and have done so for years. It is not free but has paid for itself many times over.

Returning to the fold. I feel safe. Today I was able achieve what I wanted in a conversion of a booklet to Nisus. With what I consider a clever use canvas, shapes and wraps I was able to do every thing I wanted without the complications in Pages 09, Indesign or Word. I have facing pages and page fra...
