Re: nwp 1.03 quits after pasting arabic

hi. I just bought the NWPro 1.0.3 to mainly use in Arabic. I was disappointed to see that it quits, or becomes nonrespondent (I have to force quit it) after I paste text in Arabic from another NWPro file or internet for example. I have been using NW Classic all this time. I am using MacOS 10.4.10 i...

Make a copy of the document and try to open it with OpenOffice or NeoOffice. If you succeed, save it again as rtf and re-open it from within NWE again.

Is it NWE 2.7 or 3.0? Tiger or Leopard?

The problem is intermittent. It also seems to require that Spaces be enabled for the user account.
I have Spaces enabled for my user account as well.

The splash screen is set to remove itself from your screen after the application has finished launching. Only after the release of Leopard has anyone reported this as being an issue. We believe this is a bug in Spaces on Leopard and are looking for a work around (or hoping Apple fixes it). I do hav...

Strange, when I start up NWP (demo) the splash page disappear just after the application has launched. It's replaced by another splash page that tells me: The demo period for this copy of Nisus Writer Pro has expired. You can continue to use Nisus Writer Pro, but saving will be disabled and document...

... so talking about ODF is a bit misleading I think! Both yes and no. ODF is the frame or the family name for several different subformats that are included within the open standard called ODF. I'm to tired right now to try to explain it further. But anyway, I'm hoping Nisus to use ODF (or if you ...

So far we've given away 4+ years of free upgrades for Express. Even if you bought version 2.0 when it was released that's still nearly 2 years of free upgrades. In the end we've got to pay for our work and hence charge for upgrades at some point. In this case it just happened that we had moved on t...

But will changing file extensions actually be a conversion? I doubt that. AFAIK there has to be more things involved to be able to transform a file from one format to another. I believe that you have to open the files and one way or another save them into another file format. Just changing the the ...

I just managed to waste my time downloading the upgrade - I didn't read (or expect) that I'd have to pay for it, so I had to re-download and install the 2.7 version again. Is Pro worth getting? I don't want to pay for an update of Express if it's already out of date. I would not say that NWE 3.0 is...

I agree that three years of free upgrades to NWX 2 was a generous policy. Actually, I was surprised that Nisus continued NWX at all. I think that a reasonable business strategy for a small company would have been to offer only the $49.00 upgrade to the much more powerful NWP. Supporting one program...

I believe that both Open Office and Neooffice can read rtf files created by Nisus, but I do not believe that NWE/NWP can open odt files at all.

Nisus are blithely driving themselves into a brick wall here by not supporting loyal customers, especially bearing in mind the serious competition from Apple. In fact, their timing couldn't have been worse, bearing in mind iWorks 08 has just been released. If the definition of "loyal customers...

Maybe the convertion could/should/would be able to work just like Mellel do when it went from their old format to their new format based on XML? When you open a document created in the older file format, Mellel ask you if you want to convert the file or just save a copy of it in the new file format....

Have you tried to open these documents with the help of the "older" NWE? It would be interesting to see if there are some difference between how these two applications handle this.

I agree. LinkBack should be emphasize even more now when NWP is released. I just figured out that LaTeXiT have been LinkBack enabled. That's great news.

I aslo agree that the LinkBack website has to be updated and that asap.
