I've just looked at the Nisus site's LinkBack page. It needs updating rather urgently -- to include NWPro for starters! There is also a need to get the other users of LinkBank to be more active on the issue. I just looked at Lineform -- they do make a feature of LinkBack ... but don't mention Nisus ...

I should add that I have a lively appreciation of the fact that adding features will not only bloat the application, it must necessarily bloat the price. None of us should expect a raft of new features to be added without cost. None of us should think we can get an MS Word feature set without an MS ...

What is Nisus thinking about facilities offered by Linkback

I see posts from time to time seeking features for NWPro, particularly graphics related features, which I suspect the Nisus people would hope would be solved by the use of other programs plus Linkback. For example, I see a question posted today about provision of the "text box" facility wh...

feat asked: Any other idea? Yes! Assign something else! Try command-shift-L-C or command-shift-U-C (a touch clumsy because of the space betewen L and C and U and C, or what about command-option-shift-L/U, with command-option-shift all under the hand together. There are so many possibilities with the...

Hmmm. Thanks, Nicka and Scott, that really gives me something to think about. I rather thought that .rtf was, in fact, a cooperative standard. Nice to learn something, and as usual, the way to learn something is on a Nisus forum! :D Cheers, Geoff Geoffrey Heard, Business Writer & Publisher "...

MS doesn't "own" RTF except insofar as it is by far the biggest player and it dictates terms to the others, change RTF at will to suit itself. I would hardly say MS's Word 2007 is compatible with RTF -- it uses XML format, and nothing else can open those .docs, not even the porevious Word ...

Clever stuff, Hamid, as always. But not for use amid general text, however, because effectively, it leaves a blank line above it. Cheers, Geoff Geoffrey Heard, Business Writer & Publisher "Type & Layout: Are you communicating or just making pretty shapes" -- Revealed! The secrets o...

Is "Different First Page" supported by RTF? It definitely is. Great, Martin. So here's hoping Word has implemented it in a way that Nisus' RTF can identify it. Cheers, Geoff Geoffrey Heard, Business Writer & Publisher "Type & Layout: Are you communicating or just making prett...

Hiya Martin Is "Different First Page" supported by RTF? I think it is on by default in MS Word -- or if not, it is the one option many Word users activate, in my experience. So it is a command many .doc imports will present with. Cheers, Geoff Geoffrey Heard, Business Writer & Publishe...

The tracking changes feature is very useful when material is being edited. Recently a friend asked me to edit his short story which he had written in Word on a PC. (I have pointed out to him his gross lack of personal hygiene, i.e. he is of the Great Unwashed, but he refuses to change his barbarous ...

Hi Ian The drawing thing is a hoot -- MS copied the provision of drawing in a WP from NW Classic. I am intrigued though -- does your whole office use Mac with Word? Can Word on Mac read PC Word 2007 files? Cheers, Geoff Geoffrey Heard, Business Writer & Publisher "Type & Layout: Are you...

Re: Redraw problems

the answer seems to have been "It's Apple's fault". If that's so, why doesn't it happen in any other word processor? The problem will only manifest in programs that make use of the system text layout engine. This excludes programs that use their own layout engine (eg: MSWord), or use the ...

Re: Redraw problems

I've also noticed that NWP draws a white line (like an inverse strike-through) in some of the text when I drag the scroll button. I feel like a bit of a tool pointing out such small problems, but they're ruining my initial experience with the program! Well, if you're going for Tool of the Week, Kim...
