It would be better to support, import by reference. You have to keep track of the files being referenced, but makes for smaller files, which are therefore less likely to cause problems.

I don't find TeX or LaTeX to be an acceptable choice. It is akin to programming. In which case I could just write raw postscript.

alpha 5 Print bug

I usually have Adobe PDF 7.0 as my default printer. I changed the printer to my Laserjet 4MP and without waiting, hit the enter key so that the printer would start printing. The page printed, BUT all the spaces came out as open left parenthesis and various other print character glitches occured. Rep...

Cocoa isn't sufficient for ease of translation. Xcode code = relatively simple, Metroworks code = real work. At least thats what I've read. We will need to see what Nisus says about what they use and what they say they need to do.

For most of my technical work, I use FrameMaker. It doesn't do mailmerge. I wouldn't expect it to, since it is a DTP program. However, I do expect decent WP programs to have mailmerge. A decent wp program needs to meet the needs of many different task masters. Wordsmiths want the program to stay out...

Nisus saves as rtf which is a nearly native MS Word format. RTF has been around since at least Word 1.5 on the Mac under OS 3.2. I would ask if they would accept rtf files. Having said that if all you used was native formating of character formats (like bold and italic), they people on the dark side...

Re: next release, patience

It is definitely fixed in the next release, please be patient. Over three months to fix a major bug, is too much long. A beta release to fix this issue, could have been distributed without any major cost. A dot release would have been preferable. If a small company wishes to remain competitive agai...

Yes it is too blurry. Its pixelated in a non-uniform manner. Parts of the letters and/or symbols are too thin others are too fat. Some letter/symbol parts appear to be missing. My imagewriter printed documents were certainly pixelated. But they were readible. I could present them to an untrained aud...

delackner,

Try printing it out. With my old postscript laserjet, the printout with the method you describe was not acceptable when I used my old imagewriter printer eons ago.

On a related note, if we were to focus on one or two things to improve long document support in Nisus Writer Express, what would you say it should be? Import by reference. Multiple Independent Hierarchical Paragraph Numbering. Reference Tags (the ability to track the location of tags: to generate r...

Koji, Format -> Baseline -> (Raise or Lower). If you copy the image in MT, it will tell you at the bottom the the app, how many points the baseline should be raised or lowered for the MT object be raised or lowered. Time for insert depends on upon the speed of your computer and the complexity of the...

Koji, You can export from MT as an eps. Then from Nisus Import Images while this method does not preserve baseline information. You will then need to maually adjust the baseline. However this does not change the line spacing appropriately. Nisus needs to get on the ball and fix things ASAP. It should...

I don't want that information in the save as dialog box, but in the documentation (online and pdf)! If rtfd preserves more that rtf, then it should be ther prefered file type, not rtf! As to what is preserved in rtf files, eps files are ancient and should be supportable, but mathtype objects are ole...

While NWE can store files in many formats, we are not told what features are preserved in any of the formats. We are only told that rtf is the preferred format without reason. For cross-platform purposes, rtf has obvious advantages. I would like a complete list of what is stored for each format. My ...
