windows lost on restart and other Space oddities
This problem is not new with v2.1. I work with a large external monitor connected to a MBPro. There are often 3 or more documents open at once, perhaps with some on the laptop screen. Even with none on the laptop screen, the following happens. (A) 1. Arrange 3 documents side by side on the external ...

v2.1.1 b3: Backup folder not present dlg
I work on a MBPro using a thumb drive to collect the backup files saved automatically to a second location picked thru the Saving preferences. Since v2.1, if I forget to connect the thumb drive before saving a document in Nisus, the following dialog appears. no backup folder dlg.png[/a...

Re: v2.1 beta 3: file opening oddity
I don't remember exactly the first time, but it was most likely beta-1, and when it happened yesterday, I was double clicking on the filename from the Open dlg presented by beta 3 -- not from the Finder.
It it happens again, I'll send the logs.

v2.1 beta 3: file opening oddity
Some days ago using a pre-beta 3 version of 2.1, I opened an RTF file saved by Nisus 3 or 4 (yes, a long time ago) only to have it display as garbage. Knowing that can't be right, I closed the document, confirmed it was RTF from info in the Finder, and opened the file again by clicking Open in the f...

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
re: which should say 2.1.1 beta 2. I checked that before posting. It's some beta version. The About screen in the version I downloaded on Monday morning says "2.1.1 public beta" (not 2). The file offered for download from http://nisus.com/update/pro-v211-beta.php 5 minutes ago also still s...

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
he new beta should also fix the problems you had with the Save command not fully clearing the document's edited state.
Alas, it does not. the behavior remains the same. Downloaded and unzipped the beta. Installed by simply dragging it to the applications folder. Any other installatio...

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
"Ask to keep changes when closing documents"
Aha. Un/checking this option reproduces the behavior you describe. Note regular rtf documents affected by macros that end in Save are _not_ similarly affected. Only glossaries. While you search for the solution, perhaps part of th...

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
Thank you for confirming that you also get the -Edited appearing.
I tried your test, and still get the prompt to save the already-saved changes.
Curiouser and curiouser...
Don't know if it matters, but am running osx 10.9.5 on a Macbook Pro.

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
Further observation suggests there is a timing problem. If I key cmd-W quickly enough after hearing the beep, the file closes silently before "- Edited" has a chance to appear. No prompt to save changes. If I wait a second or so, Edited appears, resulting in the described problem. So somet...

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
Should also note that the grayed-out "- Edited" does not appear when other macros that Save a non-glossary (rtf) document end. This only happens with glossary files.

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
I just noticed that after the Save beep, " - Edited" is quickly appended to the filename at the top of the document window grayed out.
Save is the last statement in the macro. The file is definitely saved.

Re: cmd-F13 oddity
After changing to the shortcut with the gremlins displayed, both macros behave as expected.
I wondered if F13 was being triggered at the same time as cmd-F13 (without the gremlins), but dunno.

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem
Perhaps the only thing special about the documents is they are glossary files (ngloss) in the Glossaries folder. The macros call a separate macro to open the glossary to edit, then does a bit of text manipulation, and then ends with Select All Select End Type Text $pasteText Glossary Entry Break Sav...

cmd-F13 oddity
pre-v2.1 a macro was assigned the shortcut cmd-F13 (function key), which appeared in the menu keys preference pane with the squiggly command key character followed by "F13". Another macro was/is assigned simply F13.This appearance carried over to v2.1. However, the behavior changed. Whenev...
