Two different left indents
Hello together, I want to create a document which is formatted like the example attached. How do I have to set the indents and the tabs? AAA, BBB, CCC, ... should be paragraphs with additional paragraph spacing. Inside AAA, BBB, CCC, ... there are soft returns. My problem is, that I have two differe...

Re: Spacing problem
The spacing problem with justified text is alleviated to some extent if you enable hyphenation (View->Hyphenation). In my example above with the Adobe Goudy font hyphenation (normal) was enabled. But this is not the core of the problem. Type designers spend great efforts and ingenuity for an optima...

Re: Spacing problem
My example was Verdana.
Yes, it depends on the font, the size, the style, the margin width and so on ...
Look what Apple's text machine is doing to Goudy:
Alas, poor Frederic!

Spacing problem
Hello again, I have a problem when using justified alignment. Justifying not only changes the space between words but the spacing of each character. Look at the following example, the first paragraph is unjustified, the second justified. http://rabe.macbay.de/nisus/spacing.png Nisus changed characte...

Re: esreveR
Dear Elbrecht, Tried it and anything works exactly like you described it. You guys are fantastic!!! Nisus should add this feature to the "Special Characters" menu (I also had trouble trying to "Customize Special Characters"). It think it should also be easy now to add a command &...

Re: Find problem
Dear Kino,
your macro is perfect and does exactly what I wanted.
I think it will be useful not only for me but for a lot of other users.
Many, many, many thanks
and best wishes from the hot Germany
(today we will have nearly 40° Celsius = about 104° F)

Re: esreveR
For new Hatra texts, I think it would be easier to [1] create a short right-to-left paragraph “CBA” by running the macro with “ABC” selected, [2] select “CBA” by double clicking on “CBA” and [3] begin to type. With the base paragraph “CBA” registered in a glossary, you can insert it easily. Indeed,...

Re: esreveR
Personally I think Ulrich’s solution is very practical and it would not be a good idea to waste time in trying to assign characters in his Hatra font to codepoints in Private Use Area. Or do you know how to give the right-to-left directionality to characters in Private Use Area? If not (and I don’t...

Re: esreveR
Hi HE, Michael Everson already answered to my mail. Yes, he is interested. But I think, you are too enthusiastic about Unicode. Look at my Beyrut-font, which I designed for the transcription of the Hatra inscriptions: A lot of the glyphs are not part of Unicode as a single entity but can only be obt...

Re: esreveR
Hi Kino,
with
Format:Absatz:Natürliche Schreibrichtung
it works perfect.
It’s unbelieveable: Only one short line of code!
But ... do I need it ... (?)
Anyway: Thanks!
... and greetings from Germany

Re: esreveR
Kino, you are great! Your macro solves my problem. Concerning “Format:Paragraph” I had to make some small changes (German system and program language) and additions (Right to left Direction; Align justified) so that it comes out perfect. Thank you very much! @HL: Very interesting! I will contact Mic...

Re: esreveR
Hi Martin, In the 90s I prepared the layout for a book which contained a complete inventory of the Aramaic inscriptions found in the ancient desert city of Hatra, now in northern Iraq. You can have a look at a sample of the book at http://rabe.macbay.de/hatra/ The structure of the book is very easy:...

esreveR
I really miss the esreveR-command from NisusWriter Classic. It enabled me to write Latin text from right to left. Is there any workaround to do this task in NisusWriter Pro? The “Reverse characters” macro is no solution. If I apply the macro for example to one two three four five six seven eight nin...

Re: Soft Hyphen
Ooooops ... No! I didn‘t know that hyphenation has to be enabled for soft hyphens. With hyphenation enabled it works. But German hyphenation is a well known catastrophe, I don't want it. Does that mean that I can't use hyphenation at all? I feel like a stoneage typesetter But anyway, thanks for maki...
