If that is your intent, then you seem to have another bug to fix. On my Powerbook, command/enter opens a new file, it doesn't create a new page. Command/option/enter does nothing. Adding fn and/or control to either of the above sees nothing happen at all.

On my PowerBook it's the fn key: Command, fn and Return. New sections are the same plus Option. What is this on a standard keyboard that lacks an fn key? A lexicon explaining such hieroglyphics ought to be in the manual but if it is, I can't find it.

If you require the option key, it will be accessible only to folks who want the feature enough to look for it, find it, and memorize where you have hidden it. However, if the pop-up menu changes when you hold down the option key, at least the command will be locatable by braille.

I agree about Lotus, Mesa and Mariner Write, but after a bout of frustration I looked at the new Mariner Calc more closely and ended up buying. I changed the preferences to suit OS X and thereafter found it distinctly preferable to the others. Mind you, I use spreadsheets for very little.

Any chance you'll fix the annoyance, which has existed since 1.0, that two words separated by an em dash are flagged as one misspelled word? For example, "get—but".

Better algorithm

NWX doesn't seem to be copying intelligently either. Wouldn't an algorithm like this be better, perhaps with some elaboration of the first condition to make it more discriminating? COPY 1. Copy the selection to the clipboard. 2. Is the selection a word or a group of words? Yes if:      The first wor...

"A good college dictionary" is an oxymoron. More useful for quick look-ups are Webster's Third International or the Shorter Oxford, and the OED is surely essential for writing. Unfortunately, none of these is available on disk, at least not for a Mac. Bartlett's version of Roget I do not k...

"Please note that this bug has been fixed in the shortly to be released Nisus Writer Express 1.1.1! "

This bug has not been fixed. Showed up the first time I opened 1.1.1, trying to read the new ReadMe file. I need to force the application to quit.
